Gonna keep all receipts in a box cant wait to get going !
I think most of us who do it on low amounts have a lot in that we need to get through. Example OH and I had a budget of £50 for January (went over slightly) and February (looks like we will go over a bit) but had a large freezer full of food and cupboards ready to burst. Our freezer now is probably only 1/3 full and cupboards are empty of most items. We also use coupons where possible to keep costs down. Recntly OH got a 2L bottle of milk for free using a coupon, we have 2 coupons for a 4 pack of toilet rolls for free and we have some for things we buy for 50p off a product coupons.
£80 could be for just one person and not a couple or family.
You can't really compare your budget to others though. People have a different circumstances, include different things in their budget etc. As long as your budget works for you and you aren't getting into debt due to it that is the important thing.
Keeping the receipts is a good idea. I also log each spend in a little book. Works for me, may work for others.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the grocery challenge but I absolutely love the idea. The past eight weeks I've been budgeting £200pcm for food alone but I really need to work on getting this down and being more disciplined with myself in the whole cooking from scratch.
Could I be put down for £140 budget please. Can't wait to get started!Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:0 -
My March GC does not start until Monday - Pension day.
I am having lots of work done on the house so need to save every penny. Mr F says - we will have a nice kitchen but no money for food to cook in it. :eek:Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
