I tried to call it when i got the email, it just rings through and answer phone answers stating they are team recruit, and they employ over 2000 monthly worldwide...0 -
Do not call this number, the "070" number is not a mobile number and is a answer phone service and cost about 4 pounds a call, thats how these scammers make there money!0

thats how these scammers make there money!
070 numbers no longer allow revenue sharing, so the scammers are not using them to generate an income.
They use them because they look like a UK mobile number, but can be redirected overseas - so a scammer in Nigeria or India or whereever can appear to be UK based.0 -
Current Ms BoP nearly fell for it yesterday. Appears that an agency's PC of was infected with a virus. She passed email to me, but as I did not know he person, I ignored.
Strange thing is, agency got three emails from me, hotmail!!, saying stuff the job I applied for as I was working nights. Well job was not for nights, so he nearly fell for it as well and nearly put paid to an interview.
So now, got interview next week, and sorted out pc issues.
So check any interviews you may have, as these crooks seem keen to pick on the vulnerable.0 -
I've received similar, but it went straight to 'junk' folder, plus knew about the scam already.
What seems to happen is Government Gateway (that some are told is mandatory to sign up to; not true), which uses Monster.com, and others as listed above, get you to make an online profile/CV. But the t&c's of those websites allow this data to be public viewable.
So, therefore any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry can download a dataminer, that scoops up all your info, and then either uses it, or sells the lists on to other scammers.
Best NOT to have online profiles on aforementioned websites, delete the cookies from your webbrowser (as they install keyloggers), and check what plug-ins have been installed, and remove any that look dodgy.
Even cancelling from GG website, saying no access, and saying send no emails, and blocking the specific webaddress of these scammers. It STILL gets through on occasion!!!
Glad I chanced across this thread, as I thought it was pretty isolated/new.
Forums go to great lengths to stop these dataminers, as they scan the website, then make their own usename, and post SPAM, and admin then have to trawl through their forum, and delete the stuff.
Also DON'T reply to the email address, as is 'sniffing' out open ports on your computer, and when it gets pinged, it knows your computer exists, then installs further spyware.
Checkout also the 'Techie' section, where various people are reporting strange errors with their computers, that coincide with the release of GG/monster website snopping, and all the above issues.
I'm sure someone more technie can explain how it all works more eliquently than I've described it.
So watch out folks!0 -
I have just had the same email. But the sender has changed to Charles Brown: -
charlesbrown486@yahoo.co.uk
But the wording is exactly the same.

Email just arrived here but with a different number: 07064848369
I found this thread via Google...isn't this site so useful for so many things ?0 -
I have google voice and just tried calling both the numbers in this thread - 07053504217 just rings and rings
07064848741 - Goes through to 'Team Recruit' put on hold promise of staff member answering shortly. Don't think anyone will ever answer to be honest.
Update:
After being on hold for 4 minutes it went through to a voicemail. It is not a premium rate number, cost me 50p for the call - which was approximately 6 minutes - so don't really get the point of this scam.11K Challenge
