Any REAL company would not have a Yahoo email address at all and I still can not believe anyone would think for 1 minute these jobs are real.

If you are applying for jobs non stop like I am you would have records of all jobs and therefore know you have not applied.

  • The one thing we all have in common is that we're applying for jobs. So someone somewhere is passing our details to people they shouldn't be - naughty naughty!

Not much we can do about it now just keep vigilant I guess.

    Here's a link regarding 070 numbers

I had exactly the same email yesterday, thought I had forgotten what I had applied for! I replied to play the game but it comes back undeliverable. What a !!!!!!...I wonder what happens, so do you go to meet them in some office somewhere and then they bump you on the head? Why are the police not investigating?!?!

070s are personal numbers, you're going to get charged 50p+ for calling that number.

    [Edit]

And more obviously the person is trying to hide their actual phone number, stinks of a scam.

thank could be how they make their money, looks harmless enough, just a phone call to double check that you are not missing out on a life-time opportunity....
they are scum, preying on people who are desperate to get a job and some will think they cannot afford to ignore even the slightest possibility this could be genuine...

Last time this happened it ended up being news reported by the BBC and Daily Mail, and turned out people were just googling for help and found the thread as the only place it was being reported/discussed.
(it's the Tesco Clubcard fraud thread).

The email will have been spammed to 1000s and anyone doing a bit of research by googling the email address (top entry) or phone number (top half of first page) are led here.

Just delete the email - hardly a big deal
  • I received the same email on 12th Feb., but from someone calling themselves Tony Render.
Due to the fact that not All replies to applications make reference to a particular vacancy (and I was suspicious), I emailed back asking for confirmation of the position, company, location and channel through which they'd received my application (without giving anything away about where I am or sort of role I'm looking for). Strangely enough, there's not been a reply - not that I expected anything other than some scam!
It's bad enough being out of work, let alone being targetted by scum like this!

All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.
