Certainly a less profit basis.0 -

Then get in quick. You snooze, you lose.
The others will have to go into shared accommodation until they can find a 1 bedroom place; or as they aren't working, move out of Manchester to areas to where there are 1 bedroom properties
The other options are to work and pay your own rent: or reduce your spending and pay for the extra bedroom/s that you don't need, from your benefit money; move to an EU country that has fixed rents and better renting laws.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Like I said earlier, I'm not affected.
But still, 14,000 into 738 doesn't go. And it's not as easy as just get a bedsit til a one bed comes up. What about disabled people? Do we just cart them all off with all their equipment into a shared house, or house that's not suitable.
There's a shortage of properties, shortage of jobs ... and a shortage of compassion here also.
Edit to add - It's also not as easy as moving out of Manchester either, as this shortage is affecting the whole country!0 -

See above - now that will be a bedroom tax as her children move out (no doubt on benefits too)
Now that is just taking the Michael!
Why on earth have the council agreed to build this...woman...a house?
And people wonder why there are so called benefit bashers!0 -
I know -I feel sorry for any neighbours. The article indicates a 4 bed bungalow purpose built. I expect they may wish to ask the council to reconsider if that is their neighbour!0

It's a shame though that so many people can't find that money. They are going to go into arrears as soon as the new charge is added. There are not enough properties to move into, so what are these people supposed to do? They'll end up evicted and homeless as they can't pay, and then what?
Spot on.There are no 1 bedroom propertys in my area.I feel for the people on JSA what are they supposed to do.Slimming World at target0 -

No, people don't want to read sob stories about the hardships vulnerable people are facing as a result of this governments draconian welfare measures. We can dismiss them as..well 'sob stories'. The Mail and the Sun have it right, with their Scrounging fraudster headlines..Oh never mind.0 -

Good luck with the woman claiming the new house isn't big enough, no way could the council justify building another one. Though they may end up building them for the kids.
She'll have to start looking for work in a few year or claim she is 'disabled' or one of her kids is.
Maybe she'll claim one of them has gone missing0
