You know it's a glorious sunny warm day outside.......enjoy it.

There is a lot more to life than internet banking. Go to the branch, as you've mentioned during the week and get it resolved, what is so desperately urgent that it needs doing in the then and now.

Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.

but if its blocked due to id checks, my bank card works as the £100 incentive has been deposited and i also deposited some money aswell.

if they are going to send me a letter usually when abouts is it from receiving your bank card, pin etc...how many days/weeks later?

I did not say that your bank account is blocked due to id checks, only access to the online banking system. They could not verify that it was you trying to set up access to the online banking system for what ever reason so as an extra precaution they want you to contact them to complete the registration.

The letter I referred to is not a standard part of setting up an account, only when they cannont confirm your idendity when registering for online banking. All it will say is to call them to complete the registration.

i will probably arrange a trip to my local branch once i get a some free time next week!

So you ignored my post from yesterday then?

You've had an option to use a non-0845 number. You chose to still use that number. So don't complain.

Deary me! I know you want answers, but no one on here can give them to you. You need to talk to the Halifax. They will have the answers you need. Using a non-0870 number would also be good.

Looking at this forum sometimes, it appears that talking to your bank is totally unfashionable. Surprising as it may be, they should always be the first call. They should, and usually do,know about their services, charges, exchange rates etc.
