Yeah, the thing as silkcutblue has already mentioned is that this machine does not come with an AGP slot so you may have difficulties playing the latest games on it. Its no problems if you just want a machine to surf the web etc. I already have one and its whisper quiet and really quick. It really is a good bargain as long as you don't need to play games on it.0

I was just about to order one of these but the sales person told me that unless you ask for a modem from Dell at the time of ordering (for £25), you wont be able to add one later as they won't include a free PCI slot.
Does this sound right?0 -
Here's the spec of the Dell Dimension 3000
from
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/dimen_3000?c=uk&cs=ukbsdt1&l=en&s=bsd&~tab=specstab#tabtop
amongst other things, you'll see that it has 3 PCI slots.
Since the graphics, sound & network are all onboard, I'd expect all these slots to be free, so you'll be able to add a modem afterwards.0 -

No, it doesn't. Adding a modem takes about 30 seconds. I put one in an identical machine last week for a friend. XP recognised it on bootup and it was ready for use straight away without even asking for drivers.
