I am going to die? Asked my DS oh you mean the meaning of life? Are you learning that at school?
no the point of life? Why do I have to go to school, study, get a job, get married, have kids etc if I'm going to die?
Well the point is love, give love, be good, work hard, you get nice things, you are happy sharing, doing good?
No, I don't get it says DS what is the point to do all that if I'm going to die?
Jeez how should I know? What is the point?:D

In one of those general and random discussions that sometimes occur at work, in my last job but one (long story), we came to the conclusion that the point of life was propagation of the species.
An inability or unwillingness to breed oneself meant that one should make oneself useful to the rest of society.
But then, we were laboratory technicians with a distinctly logical view of the world. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
I would say the point in life is to enjoy yourself long term.
You study to get a good job doing what you enjoy. That brings money in which helps you to be able to do the things you enjoy. You also meet other people at work and school, which people enjoy.
They key is "long term" enjoyment. ie: At times I hate working, but know if I didn't do it now as I didn't enjoy it, then I couldn't have money to do what I enjoy. So I do work, and then I have money to do what I want.0 -
I got interested with this forum or thread for the reason that I was asked a similar question by my daughter and I am unable to answer. She asked me "mom, why did "HE" created us but only to die at the end?" I was stun.

.. and until now I'm still thinking what's the point of my life or everyone else.

Depending on your view point there are quite a few answers to the question.
* To re-produce and perpetuate the species, nothing more nothing less?
* It's a test that you have to pass to get you into paradise?
* Do you believe in Re-incarnation and therefore you never really die?
* Is time the way we understand it at all? Do people actually live and die?
* Do you even exist? Are you in fact a figment of someone or something else imagination?
You could drive yourself down some interesting roads if you really sit down and consider it all.
Considering this very question could be the entire point?
or you could just stick with 42.0 -
Why bother with all this stuff if he's just going to die in the end, he says?
Well, he'll probably not die for absolutely ages so he may as well fill the time in with something
