With this thread being about the meaning of life, i laughed when i saw the 'addy' of the previous poster.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I've shamelessly stolen this quote from Jon Ellis, founder of Climbers Against Cancer:
"You can't change the length of your life, but you can alter its width and depth."0 -
thats the answer I told my son when he asked me what the meaning of life is the other night (totally confused him) so he went and asked his ipad and siri gave the answer "so far all evidence points to chocolate."Considering this very question could be the entire point?
or you could just stick with 42.
So it looks like you are right sam :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The meaning of life is ............... chocolate.0 -
Nice try, but he'll still have to do his homework

When my son was five, he got into the habit of saying (uber-dramatically): "I've had the worst day of my life."
I used to say - "you'll have plenty more of those to come!"
What's the point of bothering if we're going to die? Well the average lifespan is in the 70's(?)- you going to get extremely bored if you don't. There are people who work very hard to provide us with things we can be bored with.
Everything that exists in our life was created by someone who bothered. Furthermore, those who have everything and don't do anything often have very sad lives (drug addiction, etc) - those who take part in philanthropy leads much better happier lives. So that is the point - if you don't do anything it will lead to a lifetime of unhappiness, you do it for fulfilment. that's just a guess by the way. It's the way our brains our wired, why people invent things and why we aren't still sitting in caves.MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -
I don't know the meaning of life but I think there's a Monty Python film about it . Children are born , go to nursery /playschool , school , uni or a job (if they're lucky ) . I think it's about doing the best you can , taking opportunities to have a good life , being kind to yourself and others . To love and be loved . Some have good lives and enjoy it but others seem to struggle through . Who knows !0

Who knows if there is even a point. I dont think there has to be a point.
