Is this even possible?
Obviously, we don't know name or sex. And, god forbid something should happen, but not born yet....

That would be a no.
Better to wait, both my children were early, one was in a special care baby unit for 5 weeks after she was born. Flying anywhere was bottom of my list of things to do with a baby.0 -

I appreciate this may be your personal preference but is this the rules?
Also, talking about 4-5 months after birth....0 -
I wouldn't have thought so...
What are you going to put down for name, DoB, sex, passport number...:T0 -
YES!! You can do it. We booked flights when I was expecting my first son for when he would have been about 10 weeks - give or take how long you cook babies for
. I rang the airline before booking (sorry can't remember which one but would have been jet2, easyjet or similar) and they told me to book him on as an infant and name TBA (to be advised). We didn't know if we were having boy or girl etc. Once we had him I just had to ring up and give them the missing details.
What I did was have the passport filled out as much as I could before hand as this being the first baby I guessed I wasn't going to have much time after the birth and then just needed to sort photo and fill in details.
We laid him on a cream towel on the floor and stood over him to get the photo.
I found the actual travelling with an infant a doddle (easier than with a toddler) and we went to Turkey when he was about 10 weeks. When my 2nd son was born we were off to Gran Canaria when he was about 11 weeks old.
As an aside I was breastfeeding so it was sooo easy to travel with them but the knowledge that we were going to be travelling when they were babies also helped me stick at the breastfeeding, knowing it would be less hassle than bottles.

Thanks Stucco. At last some advice from someone who knows and has experienced rather than someone who says No you can't but in reality has got no clue at all....0 -

Read Stuco's post............. I hate when people just comment on stuff they dont know about and just say what THEY think the situation is as if its fact0 -
I am surprised to hear that. I would have thought u would have to pay to change the name on the tickets etc.
Good to know at least one airline lets you though!:T0 -
I would be worried to tempt fate, silly I know but you do hear of things going wrong with a birth.0
