Parking eye charges

Hi on the 06/12/2012 I went to the Mecca Bingo in Bolton in the Evening I arrived at around 18.45 and left at around 21.30 I was only
there a couple of hours. I received a letter through the post with a picture of my car registration on and a charge of £60.00 to pay, the car is registered in my sons name but I am insured to drive it. The car is on a traders policy. I ignored the first letter after trying to complain to parking eye through the internet which it wouldn't let me do. This morning I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus LTD stating that I now owe £150.00 and have to pay within the next 14 days to avoid an escalation. What should I do now?.
THANKS TINY1962

Carry on ignoring.
Debt Recovery Plus are a well known part of the letter chain. I think you'll get one or two more from them, plus a couple from Zenith (who are actually the same company pretending to be a different one) and then that's it.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Yep, got one this morning myself. Only had two from Parking eye, all quiet for two months and then this turns up!
Interesting bit for me was the sentence
"Accordingly, if we do not receive full payment or contact from you with our proposal for payment, this matter may be passed to the landholder's solicitor to commence county court proceedings."
Are they saying that the landholder would try to do court because they don't??!!! Anyway, it's some more paper for the shredder0 -
I'm sure the landholder would be positively thrilled at being dragged into a court claim they have little chance of winning by some jumped up parking company!Je Suis Cecil.0

Did you try Googling 'Parking Eye Debt Recovery Plus'?
If you had, or if you'd read the sticky threads here, you'd find these junk mail letters among lots of examples shown under various PPCs listed on this thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=2329119
...it's there at the top of the forum so people like you can play snap with each matching letter (do NOT just look under Parking Eye, look at any PPC who use the Debt Recovery Plus letter chain).
Please just search online and read a bit more about this scam, or just read more threads under yours on this very forum, they are all the same. And each time you get a letter just match it to that thread because they are all just computerised standard junk mail.
You have not been singled out.
You will not have legal action against you.
You do not owe any kind of fine.
They cannot affect your credit rating.
They cannot send bailiffs to come knocking.
NOTHING will happen.

Hi there, my friend also got a parking fine for parking in the Mecca Bingo Bolton car park. If you're a Mecca bingo member and were playing in the club on the evening of your fine, simply ring up with your membership number and details from the Parking Eye fine letter and they cancel it for you. Apparently what you should do is enter your registration on a touch screen inside the bingo foyer on arrival so you don't get charged.
Hope this help isn't too late!0 -

It's never too late to ignore a fake PCN scam like this one. But getting it cancelled and complaining to Mecca is a good thing; they should not be allowing a scum parking agent to pretend they can 'fine' customers at all. No-one should accept this sort of harassment and feel they have to take action to 'overturn it' as if they've done something wrong. The PPC scumbags are always wrong.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Does anyone know if the law has changed recently. ive just received a fine from parking eye i was 10mins over the time. they included a leaflet 'Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 - Changes to private parking' this leaflet suggests they have new rules and can now prosecute, with effect from 1st october 2012.
Ive looked at another forum called pepipoo.com user name Ming Rider has posted copies of letters which follow the pattern posted on here. difference is after the letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd they then receive a letter from County Court for cost of fine plus solicitors fees and plus court fees. This was posted 5th March. The advice on this MSE site says they cant take it to court. Either your advice is now out of date or the info on pepipoo.com is fake. :-(
Not sure what to do now i am tempted to pay early to avoid escalating fees. Does anyone know if these rogues really do have new power??0
