Suspension

I had the meeting this morning and I have a banging headache and I feel sick with an overdose of adrenalin!! I was very calm, composed and above all else I told the truth - as I have done from the outset. Who knows how this will pan out now. I have said my piece and I cant say or do anything more. Its in the hands of the great and the good.
The issue of my line manager is going to be handled by another department and I was pleased to hear that. So, I am still suspended but at least I have had a chance to say what I needed to say. The chap said he would be ringing me shortly - which to me means a couple of hours - in his case it means a couple of weeks!!.
There were moments when I could prove (!) that somebody had lied about me and that there was a set-up going on. He is having to now re interview 'witnesses'. He also has to investigate further to the gossip that has gone round - perpetrated by a senior manager no less - who 'knows for a fact' that I have been sacked for certain crimes and that came from her husband who doesnt even work there.......
If my line manager is not suspended then there will be complete and colossal cockup made. I didnt ask for her suspension - thats for them to decided what to do with her. Personally, a good talking to in the first place would have been sufficient but no, its come to this and I feel a teensy weensy bit sorry for her. Oh sorry - I dont.
All I want is to go back to work and earn my living but for the fact that three people saw my future in a completely different light is tantamount to a mind numbing and disgraceful way to set-up a fellow colleague. Of that I am now sure that it was a set-up. Someone here has got to step up to the plate and say sorry. Ive said it now its someone elses turn.
Thanks for all your support. I thought of you all this morning whilst driving to the meeting and it made me feel better.....until I got inside the room and then I felt monumentally sick. But wasnt!!0 -
I do hope things resolve and work out for you.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Let us know when you have an update.
Well done today!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Wheezy well done on today. I just popped in to find out if you had posted an update. Im glad that they've taken you seriously and will investigate the matter further.
Let us know how you get on.0 -
I didnt sleep much last night as everything was going round and round in my head.
I feel now on reflection that the chap who was holding the meeting was determined to pin me down and he picked holes in everything I said in my defense. He seemed to take 'all' the other witness statements as gospel and when I very politely pointed out one or glaring untruths, he said he would have to re interview these people. Like hell he will. Like hell, my line manager will be suspended as well. As usual it will all be swept under the carpet and life will go on as usual - except for me who will have to take the bat for everyone elses incompetence, lies and cover ups. He even mentioned previous employments - as if to prove a point of history almost. There of course isnt any history to prove so that one went down the tubes.
I will of course keep you posted. I still feel sick! I wonder whats happening at work?? Soon find out!0 -
Sorry if I have missed this - but when did you start working for the company (this is relevant to your employment rights)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Two years on 7th February. Why? Do I have limited rights as such.0

Nope, because you've worked over 2 years for them, so they have to follow the discipline procedure correctly!
(less than 2 years and they could sack you for any reason...)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Suspension started the second week in January - does this make a difference?
Maybe they wanted to start proceedings before the 2 years?0 -

No it is the date of termination which counts.
But in any case, because OP started working for the employer before 6th April 2012, his qualifying service is 12 months, so he is well within the timescale. The two year period only applies to people started new employment 6th April onwards.I'm a retired employment solicitor.
