Hi Wanted to run this past everyone before committing... we have approached a builder to skim 3 bedroom ceilings to cover horrible 1970's artex. The rooms are approx 12' 8'' by 9' 10'', 15' 1'' by 10' 7'' and 12' 9'' by 11'' 7' - we have been quoted about £ 680.00 per room. Does this seem too high or about right? Having…

You should be able to buy the skirting boards already primed. Try Secombe in Osterly or Hanson's Timber Yard in Southall. Try Google for telephone numbers. Had my outside sills (hardwood) cut to exact size and grading by Hansons - just slipped them in and sealed.
