T-Mobile

LI was leaving t-mobile on the 9th March I called them on the 7th February and they advised that I would go over to Pay as you go on 9th March however I need to pay £10 to top up my Pay as you go Sim or my line would go dead with in 24hrs.

I asked whether i could simply not top up the phone, the agent advised that i needed to pay this. Prior to the phone going over to PAY as you go in order to activate it.

I was wondering whether anyone else has had the same experience and also whether there is any way around paying this?

As I have already had to pay £20.42 to unlock my I-phone, which I begrudged however accepted as it looks as though Apple need to unlock it.

It just seems as though T-mobile are trying to screw me for every last penny before I go to GIFF GAFF.

Many thanks.

As far as I'm aware it sounds right as to activate a PAYG sim you have to put credit on it with T-Mobile
It's not just about the money

If you are leaving them, why do you want to switch to PAYG? Just get a PAC and port your number to giffgaff a few days before the 9th of Mar.

That said, even in this case T-mobile will try to rob you, but they will refund you if you challenge this: BEWARE T-Mobile early termination fee when useing pac code...
