I bought my son a mobile from Carphone Warehouse via Topcashback in September. The total cost paid to CPW was £29.95 which included £10 Orange PAYG airtime. The cashback paid was £5.

The order seemed to go through OK. A couple of days after I placed the order, I decided to try CPW's online order tracking system to see how the order was doing. I got a message saying there had been a problem so I phoned CPW and was informed that there had been a problem with my credit card and the order had been declined. He couldn't give me a reason why, just said they have very robust fraud systems in place and it happens quite a lot.

Anyway, I gave him a different credit card and he redid the order and I got the phone the next day. He assured me that it wouldn't make any difference to my cash back as it would be treated as if it was the same order. The commission then showed up on TopCashBack and I assumed it was all going through fine. However today, it is now showing as "Old" and under the "payable" section the commission is now £0.00.

I went through the Enquiries section to pursue this but Topcashback has no record of me visiting CPW on the 15th September which is the date on my receipt. This date must be when I phoned through to CPW and gave them my other credit card details. I've tried putting in dates previous to this but it says it can't pursue as the claim is over 50 days old!

Is it worth me contacting CPW direct?

  • I am very disappointed with the MrsCashBack.com site. I have been a member for about three years and at first they honoured all the cashbacks they promised, but just lately they have not credited me with money due. I purchased car insurance and house insurance through them nearly a year ago and despite numerous emails I haven't been able to get the £90 and £50 cashback promised.
They ignore emails and they don't have a telephone number. I have found an address for them, but they ignore letters.
I telephoned Lloyds/TSB who I bought the insurances from and they said they had never heard of them.
I have now reported them to the Office of Fair Trading.
Their address is - MrsCashBack.com, Jubilee House, 3 The Drive, Great Warley, Brentwood, Essex. CM13 3FR.
If anybody else has been cheated please write to them. The more the better.

I am having a problem similar to karendb. Nokia are offering 30% cashback at the moment for all sales except contract phones. I ordered an N85 via topcashback, and Nokia keep cancelling the order without telling me - I phone up to chase and they say the card has been declined. I call my card company and they say there is no record of the request and they have not declined any payment request. Looks like Nokia are cancelling orders that would qualify for cashback and lying about the reason.

  • I use frankies free fivers. I do a lot of online shopping with debenhams and marks and spencer. So far no probs.
  • Has anyone else noticed that the Topcashback site is having maintenance issues?

I left Mrscashback after they "owed" me over £70 from an insurance policy I bought and they refuse to answer emails despite following all their rules.

Now Topcashback seems to be having problems and they "owe" me £70 as well.

I've been having problems with Topcashback too. I've had 5 transactions failing to track in the past few weeks, for around £80. I've tried to put in claims for missing cashback, but the site won't let me . I've contacted them, but had no response.
Up until now, they've been great.

    Hi

Sorry, I've only just seen the questions on this thread.

I'll just answer quickly - we can answer more fully over on our thread (the TopCashback thread on the Referrer's board, here on MSE).

karendb - we can chase up claims older than 50 days no problem, if there is a good reason why you weren't able to submit within the time limit (i.e. the cashback disappearing at a later date is a very good reason). Please just send us an 'general enquiry' about this issue and we'll be able to set a flag on your account, meaning that you can submit the older claim.

Guzzibear - we have been upgrading our platform over the last week or so. Nearly everything has now been moved over to a much quicker platform - so you shouldn't see any more maintenance issues.

Jazzy_B - sorry about that. The missing commission page you have been trying to access had a glitch during the upgrade. This has now been fixed. I do apologise for the problem. I don't know why you would suddenly have had some untracked transactions - but if you submit your claims, we'll be able to chase them up for you.

    Thanks

Does anyone have an email address for CashbackKings?

I have used their post a query form, several times, but have received no reply.

I am registered with them however for the last week or so whenever I attempt to use my account for anything, including updating my profile, I get the following error message and am prevented from proceeding:

"Your email address has been unsubscribed

We have received an unsubscribe request for your registered email address. If this request was not made by yourself then please open a query.

Alternatively you can modify your settings to supply an updated email address"

"Sorry, we were unable to update your profile. Please try again."

    Safari can’t open the page.
Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://www.cashbackkings.com/myaccount/unsubscribe/”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

I have asked them to reset my account and email me as I cannot log in to follow-up this query.

I am getting nowhere - I am now using Quidco and TopCashback.

    Any advice?

    Thanks!

    john
  • I hardly ever use Topcashback now. I've had missing transactions and submitted queries but nothing ever happens. I used their "nudge" system many times but its always ignored. I've found Quidco much more reliable at sorting out missing transactions.
  • I own my own cash back site. im not going to post it due to self promotion but i am not seeing my users having these problems with the site or when they buy.

One thing you do need to remember is the money is yours once you buy through the site so when it says you need to re register an email to them should sort out the confusion on the lost cash some people have experienced.

2009 is going to be the year of the cash back site due to the climate were in.
