Thanks Norman, I never buy anything I can't afford so that's not a problem!
I just want a bit of feedback on someone else's experience as I have not used cashback sites before.

nifi 26, I have used Quidco over the past 3 years for things like, House and Contents and Motor insurance. I have had £450 plus paid to me as Cashback so far. The way I use Quidco is (who I think are very good), if I get the cashback, then that's a bonus.

I have read of posters, using Quidco and other cashback sites, moaning of paying over the going rate for a product to just get the cashback, then not getting any cashback. That's the point (perhaps made badly) that I was trying to make.

  • Hello All!

Sorry my first post on here is a pathetic cry for help, I'm not the most computer literate :(

Insurance renewal time is here again, I've read through the excellent Car Insurance article and the Cashback Site one.

Confused.com is telling me that eSure are cheapest, I've checked all comparison-ers and this IS the case (funny enough eSure are my current provider and have quoted my £60 more on my renewal letter!).

My Question - How on earth do I link the cashback (£40) to the quote on Confused?

Confused say £180 for Esure, but when I go through wepromiseto straight to Esure their quote comes through at £223  .

Am I being greedy here, trying to do link the cashback with the comparison? If not, how on earth do I 'click-thru' from a cashback site to a comparison site's results or even homepage??

    Many thanks in advance

    Jamie
  • I've been reading a few of the previous notices regarding the best rates being offered by cashback sites, i've now found a cashback website called www.pounds2u.com with offers very good rates and prompt payment too. Screwfix pays out at 3% which is the best i've found so far, Asda is 2.5% cashback on groceries. It's a simple site and easy to use. It's definately worth a look!
  • Hi, i'm fairly new to all this & finding all the info available about Cashback sites abit too much to digest.
Could someone tell me the basics ie which are the best & how do you use them. Have seen Quidco & Pigsback mentioned often when browsing the forums.

    Many thanks in advance
  • Give 100% of the cashback,
NO they don't,they've just deducted £5 'administration' from my EON £70 transfer cashback balance BEFORE they've paid it !!
I suppose this is 'normal' practice ?

Just wanted to share my woe with people that would undersand!

My work have recently redecorated a meeting room - which has involved me ordering a load of leather chairs and some posters from Staples and Allposters.co.uk.

Didn't even occur to me (as I was doing it from work) to go via my normal cashback site (Quidco) - could have earnt myself about an extra £40!!!!!!

    Gutted.
  • Hello everyone

I wonder if anyone has any experience with a company called Kidstart which appears to pay £ or % cashback which you can then put in any Child Trust Fund or UK savings account that you may have for any children in your family or for friends' children. I signed up and it appeared then to say that my debit/credit cards could be tagged for any spending in their listed Retailers, presumably that would mean that I can just go to the high street and as long as I've made purchases in those stores with my listed cards, the cashback would still be credited to me? Sounds like a good idea, but I'm a little bit worried about volunteering my cc details without knowing exactly how they do this.

Sorry, maybe I didn't read their instructions carefully enough! Kindly enlighten me, as they appear to have come recommended by Bounty (mums will probably have had the email!).

    Thank you very much!

Jamie, this is because Esure offer Confused the same cashback like they do the cashback sites. Therefore Confused offer you the same quote cheaper using the cashback and pocket a little for themselves. It's the same thing but they offer the cashback in the quote. You would be better off phoning Esure and haggle the quote down using the argument of keeping your custom otherwise you will go elsewhere. I do this every year and I knock around an extra £20-50 off the best quote by haggling over the phone.

I will not be happy until I get them paying me for being a customer! :rotfl:
