I can't see how you can come to that conclusion if you're basing it on the contents of the thread to which you've linked.

With regard to the HUKD thread, I can't see that anyone there really appreciated the point at issue.

Just signed up to topcashback, and reading through MSE threads to try and get up to speed as well as reading through tcb's "getting started" section. Sounds a great idea! Got LO's birthday coming up, so will likely get his pressies through tcb! :D Thanks to all the posters for their advice in this thread.

    Few very quick questions:

    1. Is there a minimum spend to earn cashback - e.g. do you have to spend £1 to get cashback? I'm thinking of i-tunes for example where you might buy one song at a time for say 79 pence a go. Would you earn cashback on that purchase?

    2. Is there a minimum amount you have to earn in cashback before tcb pay out? I think you can vary what this minimum is on quidco, but not sure about tcb.

    3. When I signed up through the link posted in this thread, it just asked me to enter an e-mail address and think of a password. I received a very welcoming e-mail too. However will tcb ask me for an address or bank details to pay the cash back or do I have to enter this onto the site through my secure log-on?

    4. The guys on the techie boards have been really helpful and given me advice about setting up separate browsers to avoid cookie problems. Some sites though require you to set up an account to purchase something. So take Amazon as an e.g. (I know they don't give cashback, but just as an e.g.) - if I looked through the Amazon site for prices, ideas, etc, on my usual browser, it would recognise me because of the cookies. If I later used my cashback browser to purchase something on Amazon via tcb, I would still need to log in as a returning customer in Amazon to make the purchase. Is this a problem? Would it track? Presumably the same "problem" could occur to other sites like u-switch, play.com, i-tunes, etc, etc, where you need to create an account to purchase.

Sorry if these questions are a bit basic :o , only just found out about tcb in the past few days, so still learning! :D

    Many thanks all! :T
Big thanks to Martin Lewis for helping us start to sort out our finances!!!:A

You havent joined mrmoneyback have you? Dont join up or use that site they are a complete con. I use loads of sites and this one has not confirmed anything ever or replied to any emails sent. I stopped using it about 14 months ago, they dont answer emails the site is really amateur

no havent joined - but was mighty tempted after seeing a 45 pound cashback for a tesco value car insurance policy i need to buy.

If I cant use Mrmoneyback or Ukrewards, does anyone else have any suggestions for this insurance cash back (tesco value- not tesco compare)
I will take your advise on Mrmoneyback lady K - avoid at all costs.

What about UKrewards? Any feedback anyone.

Same for ukrewards I wouldnt trust them at all. I am still a member but stopped using them about a year ago. They have just updated thier site and have taken away the forum which if you'd have read you would not have thought about joining. They knew if anyone read that they would not join so removed it for that reason I would think. It was full of complaints that were never answered and full of people asking why they were not paid. Even if you get less cashback for the insurance its better to use another site as you are likely not to get any of it at all from those 2 sites. I sent endless support tickets that were not answered to both sites
    Thanx

I'm sorry to have to keep coming back and saying bad stuff about sites, I wouldmt if I didnt have to but cashbackking.co.uk is another one to avoid. It is connected to ecashrewards that closed recently. Search any of these sites including ukrewards and mrmoneyback on here and you will find other complaints. Gawd I hope you get your £80 back :(

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1375637&highlight=ecashrewards

Edit: As far as I can see it seems to be back up at the moment but really if I were you I'd get your money asap from that site before it goes the same way as ecashrewards.

Just to warn you you will have to removed that referral link from your post because its against forum rules, you can only post referrals in the referral thread, sorry.
    Thanx

  • I totally agree with Lady_K avoid anything to do with cashbacking.co.uk, ecashrewards still owe me money and never reply to emails.
I will do all I can in getting his site closed down. I don't like being ripped off
  • Does anyone on here actually know if cashbak sites are regulated in any way? I am an avid cashbacker myself & i must say i have also been "ripped off" by some sites mentioned on here. How can people just open a cashback site, take all the revenue cashbackers generate then just close the site down? I am a member of about 20 sites & i have to say that at the moment there at least 6 of them i dont feel i have any hope of getting what i am owed from. There must be some way of stopping this happening. Couldn't someone from an official site like this look into some of these sites who have no intention of paying people money they have earned? Lets have a clampdown on dodgy cashback sites i say !!!

Can someone please explain to me why Rpoints still exists, when it is patently obvious that its other website Cashback King is better for the member?

After patiently and loyaly building up my cashback with Rpoints (including opening an A&L current account and booking many long haul flights) I am very angry to see that I could have DOUBLED my earnings simply by using the alternative site. Of course, Rpoints don't market Cashback King on this website!

I know it is my own fault not for shopping around more, but I'm very sad that I've missed out on so much.

I'm not sure whats going off with cbk at the moment I,m not even sure if they are going to close or something as they have removed the recurring earners from the site recently that paid double the amount on rpoints because they say there were too many complaints about late tracking yet they get exactly the same kind of complaints on rpoints forum. At the same time they have opened up quite a few new cashback sites offering the lower cashback values such as rpoints.

From what I see I think they tried to take on Quidco when they opened cbk and charged the £5 admin fee the same so they offered the higher cashback. By the looks of it with all this happening and lack of customer support it did not pay off and they cant be bothered anymore making up all that rubbish about why they moved the recurring earners. I wouldnt recommend either of the sites or any of the new ones they are setting up, other sites such as topcashback and quidco offer higher cashback and recurring earners too you are better off with one or both of those. There is a referrer thread for topcashback but none for quidco
    Thanx
