  • Quick heads up - Tesco everyday Value cat litter is now available online again! :D Well it was for me anyhow. The OH thinks I'm bonkers as I've massively overordered so I can keep some in reserve in case this happens again! :D

I got a value bag the other week which I am mixing with other types as a bit course.

Tesco's chicken thighs are sooooooooooo dear!! £5.17 for one pack when I was getting 2 for £6 (£4 each) which have vanished into thin air!

Well I got a £15 sainsburys voucher today so decided to do my order on both sites at once. The voucher requires a £60 spend tho which for me is whopping. But lately with the summer making me add stuff to my order my spend has been reaching £45 meaning I could add £15 extra to make to £60.

Doing both sites at once, here is what I have noticed and have concluded sainsburies is even worse than tesco.

1 - On delivery fees sainsburies is a lot worse, if spending £40 then fees are comaprable but still an extra £1-2 on sinabsuries, if spending £25-40 then the fees are pretty much double of tesco. eg. £7 for tues delivery on sainsburies £3 on tesco.
2 - Branded food pricing is very close if not equal, the special offers also are very tied together on almost everything, as if both stores are constantly watching each other. there is a few differences here and there tho but not significant.
3 - unbranded food sainsburies is cheaper on some things, tesco other although tesco seems to be in favour here maybe 70/30 to 60/40, however sainsburies tend to not produce much smallsized stuff (or at least put on their website) so tesco is more suited to single people like me, eg. tesco do 1litre ice cream sainsburies is 2l only.
4 - I moaned earlier about tesco choice sainsburies is much worse, about 30-40% of my shopping list on tesco I cant buy from sainsburies. Thats very siginificant.

    I didnt do asda.

In the end for the £15 I could only manage to get on extra 2 bags of chunky chips, and some frozen chicken.

Now I got both orders pending waiting for decision, but given this voucher ezpires in sept and tesco have their own offer this week (£5 off which expires next week) I think I will do tesco and use this sainsburies voucher a bit later.
