Tesco's online shopping - cheap options disappearing!

Has anyone found that they can't get some of their usual cheapies from Tesco online?
I discovered that last week I wasn't able to buy online the everyday value plain flour, bourbon biscuits, or the Daisy bleach. These items are still in the shops and I have always bought them online previously. Only the more expensive alternatives were available. I went to Aldi's.

Tesco have been doing this for ages, I even posted here about it before but noone seemed interested,
The things to watch out for what they do.
1 - Offers end before the published end date, sometimes it can even happen between submitted order and delivery meaning they (in my opinion) breach terms of sale but because the offers dont show on email receipt without a screen grab its hard to prove as I found out when talking to their CS they had no records of the offers.
2 - Cheap products I order one week, next week I cant repeat order because its vanished on the website, more expensive alternative listed, I find out is in stock in store. Conclusion is the website is used to sell products that dont get sold easily in the stores.
3 - Same as #2 but it just says "unavailable" but otherwise sitll listed.0 -
Are you looking in the same shop that picks your orders and seeing these items?0

yes, we even spoke to the manager face to face.
Then after we did that the items in question amusingly reappeared on the website, but doing that whole process every time an item dissapears is a lot of work.
Sometimes also what they do is remove the item, leave it gone for some weeks, so I assume the shopper loses track of its price, then it reappars at double the price.0 -
Glad I'm not the only one who's spotted this. So you think perhaps the cheap bleach won't go for good from online, it's the marketing department trying to control what we buy?
I think I heard somewhere that they don't make as good a profit from the online shopping, I hope they won't cut out all their budget options.0 -
some stuff is not on the website permanently, some stuff is just temporary so hard to say. Of course there is also stuff that never is even on the website at all. A reason I think we see stuff coming and going is tesco trying to shift excess stock so if eg.one product isnt selling well but the rest are then the rest may dissapear of the website for a bit so people only buy the one with excess stock.
Also when branded food is cheaper than tesco own brand 90% of the time it wont stay on the website until its not cheaper.0 -
The only bleach available to me today was Domestos!! And yes, some of the other cheaper options have disappeared, too.0

I only had Domestos (on offer at £1) bleach or Tesco value a couple weeks back. Now that one sounds like a supply issue!0

I typed in 'Everyday value' into the Tesco website and 649 items come up. Last time I did that it was about 560 and before that about 530, so I think the range of value items has increased. I expect some value items are poor sellers and tend to get dropped or replaced by different suppliers. Maybe if the stocks are not going to be replenished they will remove it from the online stock incase they run out and have to substitute something more expensive.Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.0 -
I've noticed this too with some of my favourites but thought it was down to pack sizes being made smaller - for example my 300g everyday value frozen prawns weren't available for a few weeks then lo and behold a 250g pack of the same is "suggested" !!! At the same price, of course:mad:
Yip, makes me mad but just as well we're savvy shoppers on here and spot mr t's tricks.. FEB GC £255.82£240 :mad::mad:
MAR GC 230.46/ £240 :T:T
APRIL GC 237.84/ £230:(:(
MAY GC £296.10/£ 270 (5 week month !):mad:0
