O2 versus BT

If you do want FTTC, then look at Plusnet as well. Exactly the same provision as BT, but cheaper, and vastly better CS.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Mind you... BT originally promised a combined bill and I've still ended up with separate bills for broadband and line rental. Is there any point to staying with such incompetence for the sake of upgrading to FTTP?
No o2 isnt that cheap, and any issued have to be fixed by openreach anyway. Stick with bt for the lineDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
So you don't need FTTC. If you want a genuinely unlimited broadband service, then Sky LLU is probably the best choice. You don't need Sky TV to get Sky broadband and phone-different services.
Thanks for all the opinions and suggestions. Have ordered with Sky in the end. They will work out cheaper and faster (hopefully) than my present BT services. Customer service reviews seem to be mostly okay - better than some of the others. Plus, it doesn't escape my notice that several neighbours use Sky (the rest seem to be BT).
Thanks again.0 -

Apart from the fact that it's hardly ever possible to switch from LLU to another LLU direct. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Indeed, but only by going bac to BT for a year's line rental-not an enviable prospect for most of us.
And the consequent broadband downtime once the line is back on BT and you apply for reprovision with your preferred supplier. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If there's another LLU provider available you don't have to go back to BT.0

It will be interesting when the OP eventually gets fed up with Sky's charges and then tries to switch from Sky full LLU service to another provider!

I'm a quine i.e. a girl.
Now, what is the issue with switching to Sky? We don't make many phone calls (we normally use our cell phones or Skype, if we do make a phone call) and it is not possible to take the fibre broadband without also taking the line rental. I'm not interested in the landline and would welcome a combined bill for simplicity.
What will happen at a later date?? Presumably it doesn't involve digging a trench to lay a new phone line? (I also presume I am still able to cancel at this point as I only ordered yesterday and distance selling rules apply, etc.)0
