Hopefully that will sort the problem.

I've never had Windows 7 so it will take a little while to get used to some things - alot is the same, but the odd thing is different, although it appears to be alot smoother than Vista.

This is also depending on your internet speed as well of course!

I have my Win 7 machine on 24/7 so I've never really noticed how long these things take to download , also having a 100mb connection helps!

I'm guessing once they are downloaded they really are downloaded. I mean, when installing it isn't downloading them still as they are installing.

Downloading is done in no time, it's the actual installing that takes an absolute age.

Maybe this is a really really slow processor or something.

    EDIT - 2 and 3/4 hours after hitting 50% we've moved to 83%!

I had a problem with NET Framework on a recent reinstall of XP.

A quick google suggests it can still be a problem with Win7 installations.

Not sure if you mean me or Iconic, but my PC is HP DC5750.

Took hours last night to get to 83% and had to go to bed, so trying again tonight.

It's at 50%, it's only a 35mb file. Then if that works, I need to do the rest!

    It gets worse.

The machine was meant to come with a DVD Multi Recorder and on closer inspection, it's a DVD multi player and will not record anything.

    I've had appalling luck with PC's - I think i've been conned!
