My first ever ebay blunder has now occured.
On listing a brand new with tags item worth £22.99, I accidently put the buy it now price as 99p instead of £9.99.
I didn`t check it and sure enough when I awoke this morning someone had purchased it. I have now refunded her paypal payment and sent an email of apology as there is no way i`m selling at that price. negative feedback or not !!
If this buyer gets abit frustrated and starts demanding, what should I say to her??! Anyone had experience of this.
I feel terrible for mucking this lady about. But from the looks of her feedback, she has a short temper, and replies in a quick tongue to negatives left for her.
Help

Your only options are to either sell her the item at 99p, or take a neg feedback and a bad seller strike against you. Choice is yours. If the item cost £23, it might have fetched £10 at most. For £9 quid I'd take the loss and chalk it up to experience.
I certainly wouldn't have refunded her paypal payment without talking to her first.0 -

While it was a genuine mistake on your part, you will just have to accept a negative. It would be unfair to give her a negative feedback as she has done nothing wrong. After all, she bought it and paid for it quickly and in good faith. Ebay AFAIK wont do anything against a seller who wont sell the item, Ive written to them in the past and they replied saying they only had policies to deal with non-paying bidders.liz_uk wrote:My first ever ebay blunder has now occured.

Liz.... Afraid your gonna have to take this one on the chin.
But rest assured you are not the only person to have made a silly mistake ... I not long ago sent a person the wrong item and they also were not to chuffed but all I could do was send the correct item ... I also let them keep the origonal item also as I would have had to pay postage to get it back... ended up losing about £12 on the deal ........ but it was MY mistake !0 -
I agree with what everyone else is saying. unfortunately you should have reviewed your listing before submitting it. If it happened to me I would just give her the goods as the buyer was purchasing in good faith. I guess you would expect the same if you were bidding on a item and you thought that you had got a bargain.
It is up to you though.0 -
Some confirmation of what may happen if you don't complete the sale from help:
Item Not Received or Significantly Not as Described Process
"If warranted, the seller's account may be restricted or suspended. If the buyer closes the dispute with this option and the transaction is eligible, then the buyer may file a claim under eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Program, where they may be reimbursed up to £120.00 (minus a £15.00 processing cost).Additionally, if the eBay Trust and Safety team believes further action is warranted, the seller's account may be restricted or suspended."
Maybe empty threats, but I'd take the loss.0 -
If a short email of apology advising that you suffer from colour vision deficiency dyscalculia and mistakenly listed the item without your Chromagen lenses in doesn't work.....
..... Then I would sell and chalk it down to experience.

Hi there,
It's an honest mistake and if I were you I would file an unpaid item dispute for the item stating:
"We have both agreed not to complete the transaction"
for "Other Reason"..
At least that should spell it out to the buyer (and ebay), and will give them the chance to let you off the hook. Also send an accompanying apologetic email to your buyer explaining what happened.
++ Just to add, you can file the dispute here: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CreateDispute

ebay quotes that "transactions are legally binding"
b@llocks are they, how many 10's of NPB's have I had over the past year
it was a mistake plain and simple.
don't sell, you don't have to,
take any neg on the chin
comment on the neg using ebay tiawan to get 125 characters and say it was a genuine and obvious mistake and they were being unreasonable
negs are character building, so dont worry about themmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

get in touch with buyer see if you can meet in middle say. If they won't I think I would take it on the chin. And take a cheap lesson.
To many comments on here about ducking out...I think a little bit of personal honour is missing on here at times.
As granny used to say:- "Do as you would be done by"
Feeling sanctimonious (sp?) now!!!
