My kids usually share the water....i put the baby in then when shes finished, i top it up and my 5 year old goes in while i dry and dress baby. Having a 5 year old boy usually means the water is absolutely minging the min he steps into it! So no i dont get in afterwards lol I get the pleasure of putting them 2 to bed and enjoying a nice relaxing, very hot bath! ahhhh heaven0

Those were the good old days when my husband and I shared a bath, at the same time that is. Now I'm afraid there's not enough room for us both, I always got landed with the tap end anyway !
We now share the bath water as one gets in after the other, basically because we are too lazy to wait for the water to heat up again in the tank. Saving water though.
I've got happy memories of having a bath in the tin bath in the kitchen where we used to have a rayburn. Mums memories not so happy though, she remembers bending over and catching her bum on the rayburn door.
Happy days...0 -
We generally share bath water if we're clean to begin with. If we've been doing minging jobs or I shave in it then we don't share but otherwise we o. Often one of us will jump in to the kids bath once they've finished. A couple of times I have tried to sneak off upstairs for a bath when DH is at home to be followed by DS screeching up behind me Me too me too! (He's 3) and he jumps in leaving a trail of clothes from the kitchen to the bathroom. He's even got in with his socks on before because he was so excited.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

Yep we share bath water.... unless I have had a lush bomb in there then hubby refuses ays he will smell like a tart!
We have a 6 month old so one of us normally is in the bath with him, then they get out and dry themselves and baby whilst the other person gets in so thats 3 people sharing the water... like someone else has said you share a bed... if you are so dirty that you can see it then surely you should have a shower anyway as sitting in dirty won't get you clean!
IMHO baths are for relaxing and having a quick wash but showers are for having a clean!0 -

When we refurbished out bathroom, we put in a rolltop bath, with taps on the side. Now neither of us gets the tap end.

Well we have only had a combi boiler for the last 12 months or so, the house came with an emersion heater which was very expensive to run. So we have always shared bathwater! I have done from being little too.
In fact it's a rarity in this house for the water to only get one bather!0 -

My grandfather used to share bath water with my grandmother. Then after they'd both finished he'd put his hosepipe into the water and siphon it onto his tomato plants in the greenhouse. So he probably got a mouthfull of it sometimes too.
I think it's generally a good thing to be a little bit dirty anyway, within reason, because it builds up your natural resistance. I used to eat worms when I was a kid for example. "Recent research" has shown that this sort of thing reduces crones disease and the like. I'm told that this was known decades ago though.
Hurrah! Another worm eater!!! Thank God, I thought it was just me that did that when a small tot! I also used to dangle worms over the pot when my mum was cooking spaghetti - she had a phobia about them so I used to be really mean and do it if she'd told me off about something.
As we only have one bath a week and shower the rest of the time, Hubbie and I always share a bath. It's the only time he says he can talk to me while I'm being still. I like the water really hot so he jumps in with two glasses of wine after about half an hour of me being in and I hop out about 20 minutes later so he can have a 10 minute soak.
More often that not we also share a shower to....."carpe that diem"0 -
I could only share the water if I was in the bath at the same time as my OH.
I wash to get clean, so I don't see the point in using dirty water to do so!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a clean freak or anything!0
