Why would the papers care?
Unless it's in writing, never trust a salesman. Move on, lesson learnt.0 -

And since it's an open forum, I'm equally as entitled to post as I wish.
So wind your neck in DCFC79 eh?0 -
I have wrote a letter to Vauxhall explaining the situation, I haven't asked in the first e-mail but I will answer in my reply to them if I could perhaps be issued the warranty as a gesture of good will?
Btw: The garage in Question is Dobies Carlisle (which is now owned by Bristol Street Motors)0 -
How long were you planning to keep the car?
You still get the Manufacturer's warranty for 3 years.
Most people who buy new cars don't keep them past 3 years before selling them, at which point the lifetime warranty expires anyway because it only ever applies to the original owner.
So, unless you were planning to keep it longer, you haven't really lost out.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0 -
Very slightly off topic, we made similar inquiry about our Motabilty Vauxhall when we were thinking about purchasing it at lease end.
Although we were the first 'owners', with Motabilty being the first people in the book, the warranty would not be transferred to us.
Most manufacturers will transfer a 3 year warranty but a 'lifetime' one???0 -

Well i did get the car on a 5 year 0% finance deal so i was planning on keeping it for the 5 years (unless i get around to paying it off earlier which might do)0 -
Interestingly the 7 year warranty offered by Kia is fully transferable to subsequent owners.0

There has been a piece in AutoExpress in the last couple of weeks about this very issue. They eventually went to AutoExpress and got the warranty. If you pm me, I'll see if I still have it when I'm back home at the weekend, I can scan and email you a copy of the article.0
