  • New Renault clio 0.9 tci? media nav, in Red, parking sensors (300) and paint protector G3? (cant remember how much) All other extras came as "standard" options.

Old car 07 dodge caliber, 38000miles, 2l SXT AUTO but needs quite a few bits done to the body work. MOt'd till May I think

    Just reading the blurb:

Body coloured rear parking sensors are standard kit on that car / model?

Edit:- I lie, i was looking at the S model (but it also means i was looking at a more expensive car)

I liked you picked the most expensive paint too....

There is actually a better margin on the top model so broadspeed reckons you should be just under or just over £14k + the cost of the G3.

I haven't factored in if you got your legs lifted or got a decent trade in (which would impact the total package value).

Edit: Autotrader suggests £4.5k+ for a reasonable one, so £2k sounds pretty ropey unless it is battered?
  • We didn't pay anything extra for the colour or other options, just the sensors and the paint protector stuff.

Oh has spoken with the dealership now and apparently as its a brand new model there is a ban on offering any kind of discount (OH said someone else we knew had ordered the same car but got a discount) So they were keen to find out who the discount was with!

The UK broker system seems to suggest that they are talking horlicks.

Every model of the New Clio is available with at least £300 off list, going up to about £1500 as someone else has suggested.

It is solid Red and not the £535 metallic stuff?
Then take that off what i said.

Edit:- I can't find a "red" no cost paint for this car? Are you sure you didn't pay £535 for paint?
  • 100% we only have to pay for the sensors and paint protection, we paid £250 deposit on saturday so have about £400 to pay when we pick it up.

Old car has bad dent in the back panel but, a key scratch all the way done one side, a scuff at the front and a broken front licence plate....all bar the dent were someone elses fault...we are not that bad at driving :) My dad is an old school panel beatter and he agree'd 2k is way to cheap he thinks we could get atleast 2.5 on ebay or autotrader as is, which we will try and get.

If you are trying to save money, do you really need the G3 paint protection?

Apologies for the formatting as I've lifted this off a website.

This is the available colours and their pricing for that car according to renault.

    Metallic Diamond Black £495
    Metallic Mercury £495
    Metallic Oyster Grey £495
    Renault i.d. French Blue £175
    Renault i.d. Inca Yellow £175
    Solid Glacier White £0
    Special Metallic Flame Red £535

I obviously don't know what you've paid but my opinions are that the metallic paint is a cost option. This is based on all the available evidence i can find.
On that basis you can get the car with that paint option and the body coloured parking sensors on or around £14K (+ the cost of G3 stuff) via a couple of UK based brokers.

I also agree that you should be able to get a better deal on the P/E.

Finally good luck with your new car :)
  • I will mention DrivetheDeal once again. No i do not work for them just a satisfied customer on several occasions.

You could walk away from this deal lose your deposit and still be over a grand in credit.

Why anyone deals with a main dealer is beyond me when these brokers offer the same vehicle from the same UK dealers at a saving delivered to your door.

I appreciate on rare occasions dealers will match a brokers price but not often.

I compare using a broker to ordering an item on line no fannying around no haggling no wasted time etc etc.

Providing you have decided which car you want.

In my opinion its a no brainer i can certainly find better things to do than trawling dealerships listening to bull !!!! in many cases.
Perhaps i have got it wrong though each to their own. I like a good deal at minimum hassle and this has happened on each occasion i have used this method.

    Happy trawling happy motoring.
  • I have never heard of brokers for new cars....we have never bought a new car before so all new to us, bu will bare it in mind for next time.

Thanks all for your help :)
