Morning all, cold here but no snow. Fields are drying up so we managed the long walk this morning. A woman burst out laughing when she saw Loki walking with Jack, he may be a cat but he thinks he's a dog. Hilstep glad you have had no more falls. DD and I are doing fasting and not finding it too difficult. Hoping to have pancakes today as we were fasting yesterday. Hope you have a good day with your OH halight and enjoy your day out JackieO HH hope the babysitting goes well. Have a good day all, hugs to all in need :)

Morning all, plans for today have changed as son is a bit agitated and I am going over to see him to see if I can help calm him down. Will dash to market in a minute to get fruit and veg and then head over to him. his support workers don't need me to go, they are perfectly competent, but I just have a need to see him. Think it's to do with the anniversary of Jamie bulger's death which happened when my son was about the same age and really, really got to me. I'm not usually this emotional. I was going to see son tomorrow ayway so will just switch the 2 days plans around.
I am making huge prgress in my spare bedroom that had been used as a large cupboard and feeling very satisfied with it. Eventually I will actually be able to use it as a craft room which is what I originally intended!
No idea what lunch or dinner will be! Probably dinner will be a load of vegetables in passata on pasta with perhaps a fruit crumble.
Snow still lying here, but roads are fairly clear so it's not a problem except for the poor pedestrians who are having to walk on the road. Why don't they clear pavements as well for heaven's sake? They are icy and slippery and an absolute deathtrap!
Have a warm day all and hope things get better for everyone.

    Morning all,

Freezing here but with a nice breeze, got a wash on and will get it on the line in a while, I will then take dd's curtains down and give them a wash, they are also too long, have been since we got them, so will ask my mum to come down and help me shorten them on dd's machine. I have decided to give dd's room a spring clean while she is away, so yesterday I cleared out a cupboard in her room, (it has all her make up and bits and bobs in) and her bedside cabinet, I got 6 carrier bags of rubbish out  will do the bookshelf and chest of drawers today.

Rosy Red I an so sorry to hear about Leo, I do hope he is not suffering too much, its a really tough time for you too xxxx

Miffy I would live to see a photo of the cat and dog walking together :rotfl:

Got to take little dog to the vet tonight she has had a lump come up on her leg, it does not seem to bother her at all, but we will get it checked.

Chicken curry for dinner tonight, which I will prepare and leave in the oven for when we get back.

Ok have good days all xx

No snow here so might go to library this afternoon to renew books while pavements are not slippery.

Still have mince, sausages and chicken breasts from visit to butcher on Monday so planning shepherd's pie tonight, chicken wrapped in bacon tomorrow night to welcome dd home from university and sausages for lunch tomorrow.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the soup, foccaccia bread and marinated chicken last night. Next time I get chicken legs will ask for them to be cut in half as they were huge.

Going to make breakfast for dd and dh and then make up dd's bedroom nicely to welcome her back home.

    Hugs to all.

  • Good morning everyone :)

The snow is coming down heavily here and it looks like it will settle, though the roads are wet so am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't.

We forgot all about pancakes yesterday until DD phoned me to ask how to make them! Oh well, DH loves making them and I love eating them so we can have them another day.

Am extremely sorry to hear about Leo and difficult decisions. We have one of those coming up, one of the 3 naughty little pets is getting very old, thin and losing her coat. At the moment, she is happy and plays and jumps about and she is eating and drinking but still getting thinner every day but I know one day soon we will have to decide what to do. My hope is that we find her gone in her sleep and do not have to make the decision and I am getting all tearful just thinking about it so will stop.

DH is making me a big cooked breakfast and tidying the kitchen at the same time, I have been ordered to stay out of the way until he is done and I am hapy to do so.

I agree that YS food gets less and less but we occasionally get a great bargain. Recent ones were monkfish in Sainsburys, sirloin steak in Tesco and most surprisingly, big packs of smoked salmon for £1 each in Waitrose! I always look out but there is usually a mass riot and aisles blocked with trolleys to fight first.

Today I am at war with Lloyds TSB so am off to call my complaints handler and see what he can do.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super day :)

  • Morning everyone! Oops think that should be afternoon now! Went to the gym this morning, main roads were dreadful. Tina malteser - I'm not too far away away from you so I would suggest not going out if you can avoid it. I don't mind driving in the snow but even I was a bit wary this morning.
Unfortunately the sleet is on now so it'll wash all the lovely snow away. Boo!!!
I'm about to make biscuits this afternoon, if they work out well I'll post the recipe - it's one I haven't tried before so hey, who knows :-)
I had posted on the praise vent warning forum about a company I placed an order with 2 weeks ago which had t turned up and they were not answering my emails or calls grrr! I phoned my cc comp y yesterday to get the ball rolling on a dispute to claim cashback & today I got a text from the company saying my goods will be delivered at lunchtime! Coincidence? Lol we'll see what happens if and when they turn up!
    Have a good day

It started to snow an hour ago so I have renewed library books online and decided to stay in the warm unless anything urgent crops up today.

Glad I am all right for milk, bread eggs, veg, fruit etc. Even have some sweeties stashed away ;)

Going to heat up home made soup so see you later.

Dry, cold and dull here but no more snow thankfully. I have to go to London for a hospital appointment on the 21st (Ortho) and Piers Corbyn says that we have a big blast coming in on the 20th, so I will have to keep an eye on his site.
DH left me in bed this morning because I had such a bad night, I didn't get up until 9am

The cost of living is getting very worrying I don't know why people in this country haven't begun a revolution yet.

I am waiting for a real seeds delivery and then I will plant as much as I can.

Oh well I had better get my menu plan and shopping list done for next week

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
