4od on Virgin Media

I'm really quite annoyed. I signed up and had installed on the 1st Feb Virgin Media, Tivo, Broadband and phone.
The reason I signed up with Virgin was there was a good deal online and it said on their website catch up tv included 4od, me and my boyfriend has just moved into a rented property and our plan is to save like made for a deposit so we was looking forward to having all of 4 od on our tv and not having to plug the laptop into the tv.
The thing is and what they don't make clear on their website is the 4od has very limited content, I didn't watch the first couple of episodes of Utopia and My Big Fat Diary as I knew I would be moving and would be able to watch them via virgin, however only the episodes on catch up tv are available and not the first episodes.
I called up Virgin yesterday to check if there was perhaps something I was doing wrong and there was another way I could see the same content on Tivo/Virgin as 4od online but I was met with a very rude girl who told me the content on the website was the same with Virgin (its not!)
Am I correct in thinking there is a 28 day money back guarantee with Virgin?
I'd rather stick with freeview if there isn't the same content, I don't watch that much tv so don't need any extra channels (signed up to m package with virgin) I've also heard youview has the same content of 4od online, so I think I may go for this.
Any advice is appreciated.

Virgin has more than enough Channel 4 live content and you can surely record these if not offered in Catch Up?
Are you sure you don't simply think you've signed up for something you can't afford?0 -
FWIW The only 4OD content on Sky is a little icon that says coming in the Spring, only need back episodes of TBBT when it does arrive though:D
Mind you I'm surprised OP did not go for YouView ( shameless plug)which would seem the logical non subscription ugrade route from Freeview if you want catch up TV.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
What do I do if I change my mind before my service goes live?
You have 7 working days from the date we accept your order to cancel services. We will write to you with details of this cooling off period before your go live date.
Since our Virgin Media phone services are currently available if you have our Broadband package (and are not available stand-alone), you can only cancel the whole package (consisting of Virgin Media Broadband and Virgin Media phone services). If you cancel during a cooling off period you will not be charged. If you cancel during a Minimum Contract Period (outside of the cooling off period) you will need to pay outstanding contract charges up to the end of your Minimum Contract Period. Cancellations occurring beyond the end of their Minimum Contract Period can be effected without charge.

Typical response from this place, did you not read my post. The reason I wanted cl the content from 4od is I don't want that much tell however I'm planning on staying in a lot and I do love all the old channel four programmes so figured having all the content on my tv would be a bonus.. I can assure you I can afford the monthly subscription!0 -

If you set your CH4 preferences on your TIVO it will automatically record those shows (and suggest others you might like). I think you should still find plenty to watch, just not all the box sets available from the web version of 4OD.
Glad you haven't overstretched your finances...;)FWIW The only 4OD content on Sky is a little icon that says coming in the Spring, only need back episodes of TBBT when it does arrive though:D0 -

I've just moved in with my boyfriend, I don't have a computer I access this forum through my phone. I was hoping to be able to watch 4od straight through the telly without having to get my boyfriend to plug is laptop which he may or not be on at the time I also needed an internet provider and phoneline and I chose virgin for the tivo service and their catch up and on demand.
Why would I make up a reason, I came one here for a bit of advice in case I wasn't using the service correctly not to be accused of not being able to afford the payments.
I have cancelled virgin nownd signed up to talk talk with a youview box as that has all the same content as channel 4's website.
Thanks to the people who responded to my question with an actual answer, I appreciate it.0 -

You do seem very touchy about the subject though....0 -
With Talk Talk you can only record the Freeview channels. Anything supplied via one of their "Boosts" isn't recordable.
Just so you know.0 -

There seems to be a contradiction in your posts here. You either have a computer (laptop) or you don't.
I don't have a computer but my boyfriend does. I'm probably more angry at myself for posting here. I read lots of posts and see many times an innocent question turned get a witchhunt.
I was genuinely hoping someone would let me know I wasn't using the service correctly, but anyway hey ho. Have fun!0
