Blummin expensive, loveable breed!0 -
GR... Argos platinum says it covers tick and worming treatment?
Ah sorry, that is only if you are delayed on returning to the country from holiday and need to get your pet treated while abroad.
I should read things more thoroughly!0 -

With 4 cats... still £80.00 plus a cab to get there/back as no way can get 4 baskets on 2 busses
They only do vaccinations for cats on Wednesday (come, take number, wait basis) so have to take a day off too...
I'm not knowledgeable on the subject , but I was wondering if there was a way to do this without the need to take time off work and borrow cat baskets
The top search result for "Romford" is "Your Vets" in Dagenham (nearer to Chadwell Heath though)
and they offer Cat boosters for £20 and are open on Saturday and Sunday , so you could spread the visits out over two weekends and not take time off work
Chadwell Heath is on the main Stratford to Romford road and it is less than a mile to the vets from there (bus 173) turn right off the main road that goes to Romford
(train to Chadwell Heath then bus 173 or any bus that goes along the road towards Romford eg 86 and change to the 173)
I think the £20 fee covers leukaemia - but do check with them first

post 7 states that £20 covers leukaemia
similar to the http://www.easipetcare.com/ mentioned by krlyr above but in East LondonHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Dr_Cuckoo3 - thanks a lot for that, will check this out.
Bit of a treck to Romford from me (E11) but they are open on Saturdays and that of course helps...
Thanks again.0 -
Do you have any vets4pets local to you?
They are currently doing boosters for £15! for a limited time I have my dogs under their Vaccinate for life scheme which is £99 great value for a young pet if you have them money to pay up front.
Good luck

Thanks but the closest one seems to be Croydon, that is too far away... Perhaps someone else can pick this "bargain" though...0

40 minutes on the bus according to this , I don't think that Canning Town is any nearer

I'm just thinking about the hassle of borrowing cat baskets (if you only have one) and getting them all into the taxi when it can be spread out over two weekendsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Looked it up - bus to Manor Park (I am on the "other side" of E11), train to Romford and bus to the vets from Romford station.
Or, at the weekend - friend with a car for petrol cost.
Will definitely give them a call.
Thanks a lot for that.0 -
Just called them, £15.00 each if I make an appointment for Wed or Thu between 1:30 and 4:30 so I could have all 5 vaccinated for a total of £75

Dr_Cuckoo3 thanks a million for that0 -
The other option was petplan, but they are ridiculously expensive.
Just daren't take any risks on a lower amount of cover due to the huge cost of the operation that Tyson had, it made me realise the costs I could be looking at!
Just to add to this Katy, a friend has just got their Petplan renewal through today (been with them a few years now I think) and said there was no increase at all this year - despite them having made a claim (of a few hundred pounds I think it was, when the dog had gastritis) this year. So not always the most expensive option - a few years of small but consistant premium rises elsewhere and the cost may overtake that of a Petplan policy in the longterm0
