The first item I ever bought on eBay (about 7 years ago) was for over £100
I ended up with the item, the seller ended up with the money and I can assure you there were no tears by either party.

You only ever hear of the failures, when it goes smoothly there's no need to post.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

This won't happen if you send it with a carrier or SD as you need to for items of value. INR claims will not succeed if there is tracking.morganedge wrote: »

I don't have a credit card but have 451 positive feedback. You'll be excluding a lot of people if you do this just because of a zero feedback bidder.morganedge wrote: »thanks Sham.
I didn't know you could change you seller preferences to not allow people without a credit card on file.
I've found my worst dealings on there to be with users between the feedback ratings of about 5-18.0 -

No, you'll be OK with a feedback score of 451 because it just stops people with a feedback score between -1 and 5 from bidding.0 -
In 10 or 12 years of ebaying i have left 3 negatives and had to open 2 disputes.
One early last year when the seller split some items to get more money no problem there but when i bought one item that i wanted he said he didnt have it listed incorrectly. Why didnt he just say the other buyer who bought everything else NEEDED that part?
One negative.
Disputes open between xmas and new year when sellers failed to reply to my problems, Item with false dimensions and item not received.
No reply until i opened the dispute.
So its not all bad.
But i sell very little, And hopefully have my buyers preferences setup properly. UK only, Credit card on file and payment strikes.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It wouldn't be an INR claim.
It will be the classic scam which there is no defence against.
That is, they buy the item and pay for it.
You then send it using special delivery.
They then file an 'item not as described case' against you.
Ebay tells the buyer to send it back tracked.
They then send a box of wood, or a similar broken item to the one that they won AND get their refund. (no matter how much you try to convince EBay that what they have sent you is not what you sent them!)
They win.0 -
However, what I think will happen, is they will win the item, and then I will never hear from them or receive payment, so I won't be 'scammed' as such.
It will just mean waiting 4 days for them to pay for the item(which they won't), then opening up an 'unpaid item' case against them, and then the transaction eventually being cancelled by Ebay and me getting my fees back.
That is what will likely happen, although I still don't understand their 'angle'?
If they actually do pay for the item, I guess I can just say that the item was eaten by my dog and so I can no longer sell it? (as I have heard from sellers many times, usually when I have got a good bargain)0 -
How can you KNOW this for sure? Imagine if everyone had this attitude when you first started on Ebay, your post would be more to the tune of "How can I get anyone to trust me on Ebay?"morganedge wrote: »I know if I take your advice and trust this person, they'll end up with the item and a refund!:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Two choices. Stop reading this forum. Or stop selling. You just aren't cut out for it.0
