    Good morning all,

Welcome to the newbies, you will love it here, a lovely bunch of people.:D

Had my information through from SC yesterday so our DMP officially starts on 1st March:eek: very scary but positive for us.
I have been suffering health wise recently and have realised that a big part of this is thinking of returning to teaching ( I was a senior manager in education). As you know we are in a difficult financial position and I feel incredibly guilty that this is the case.:o But after a long heart to heart with my dh who is a wonderful man, I have decided its just not worth it both for my health and the way this affects our family. The DMP is set up based around dh's salary so anything I can earn will be a bonus.
I'm hoping to work from home and have some business ideas and the possibility of some paid on line tutoring so am going to go down this route. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and count my blessings that I have such a wonderfully supportive partner.
We will put the second car on hold until its really needed which is fine and better for my waistline.
Tea tonight will be curry and rice with naans. Today I'm going to work on the spreadsheets and budget and I've promised ds3 shortbread biscuits.
Sorry for the essay I promise tomorrow's post will be shorter:)

    Have a good day all J x

    Morning all!
Still a bit chilly, and sky looks very white!
If I can shake myself, will try to start clearing the carp from my bedroom today, once the rubbish from everywhere else that has landed there is clear I will be able to start sorting through OH's things, not looking forward to that, will be a struggle to rifle through 29 years of memories but needs to be done, hopefully if I can manage that I will be able to think about getting back to work, and I did say THINK as I know I'm not ready for that yet, my job is too stressful to rush back before I'm ready, would only end up off sick again!
Anyways, enough of that! Welcome new ladies, you will find everyone here very supportive! Hugs to all, and Halight try not to get too muddy at school today;)
    Have a good day all!

Welcome to the new faces - everyone is very welcome:j:j:j
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Morning All,

Aunt & Uncle coming today. Made a huge batch of Welsh cakes yesterday. Auntie loves them. Put some away for DD. She moaned last time there weren't any left, because the bukiders ate the rest:rotfl:

Bought a ham hock yesterdat from the butcher for £2. Found a pacfket of red lintils in the cupboard, and a recipe on Old Style, so am making soup at the moment. Chicken & asparagus pie leftover for dinner.

Builder starting my new deck Monday. This is beside my kitchen. I haven't been out there since I broke my arm. Have fallen twice out there, so it has to be made safe. At least I will be able to use the washing line again.:T

    Welcome mumlady1.

My cold seems to have eased off now, so hopefully I will stop falling now. I have had four falls in six days. B*****y MS:mad:

Rant over! Hope everyone is okay.

    Morning all, welcome to newcomers.
Had an sold schoolfriend staying this weekend and we had a blast. She relaxed a bit (having a truly HORRID time at the moment) and said she felt tons better for having come even though her journey home got delayed by 24 hours because of the snow!
Lunch will be a cheese sandwich and dinner some left over sheperds pie with sprouts. That will leave the fridge almost bare so hopefully we won't get too much snow tomorrow and I can shop.
All quiet on the work front until later in the month, when I will get busy again, so am using the time to catch up on house de-cluttering, deep cleaning, baking etc etc. Oh and having long hot baths with my book in hand!
Visiting my son later in the week, also Friday am taking him out for the day (with support workers) and swimming with him on Friday WOOP WOOP. Just spoken to his dentist to set up an appointment where he can have a sedative as he is not allowing her to look properly at his back teeth. Support organisation may want a 'best interests' meeting about this. I am wondering if there is any way we can get the blood samples needed by the consultant at the same time as it will mean one sedative only. System doesn't seem to work like that sadly.
Also been booking a trip away for 2 nights for son's 21 birthday in March. Hope he enjoys it, we are all working so hard to make it fun for him rather than stressful. However if it all goes horribly wrong we will just abort it. At least we will have tried. Aim is for him to have a flight experience in a small plane at Newquay. go to the zoo there to see the monkeys and some time on the beach. All hus favourite things.
    Wow I've rattled on!
Have good days all, stay warm and hope all your troubles and stresses are getting resolved.

  • Afternoon all, have been up since 8am but busy. Have just been to Drs who thinks I have Carpal Tunnel so is referring me to Hosp. Really pleased as the numbness is really frustrating. Have done all washing so just need to sort and iron as well as tidy back room which becomes a dumping ground. Julie67 I think you have made a good decision, teaching is so hard these days and although I love being in the classroom the paperwork and other associated b***oc*s has got me down so much lately that I'm retiring in July. I'm going to try and find something part time and different to do. Welcome to all newbies and hugs to all in need. Have a good day all and keep warm.:)

    Hi everyone,

Just had a quick sandwich, need to do some banking & emails so thought I'd have a quick look here first. Not much OS going on to be honest apart from cooking from scratch, pork chops with sweet potato wedges & veg for tea last night ,tonight doing a half price leg of lamb, not had that for months.

Most of my time has been spent with Leo,it wasnt good news from the blood tests :(.Basically his kidneys are starting to fail.We had to take him back to the vets on Saturday morning when she gave him 3 injections,B12,anti nausea and a steroid to increase his appetite. He ate quite well on Sunday but didnt fancy much yesterday, had some wafer thin ham today.Still wanted his walk this morning though :) as soon as he doesn't want to go out we'll have to make the decision, sooner rather than later as there is no way we'll let him suffer.Thats the trouble with big dogs, they don't live as long, but ever since we got him at around 2yrs,despite being maltreated & undernourished by his previous owner:mad: he's always been a gentle giant& he's had a lovely life with us.Better stop now before I make myself cry :o

I have been making some engagement party invites for DS and his DF,most people will be asked via FB,so its just for people who arent on.They got back from their romantic break in the lakes yesterday and had a great time, just put a bit of a dampener on it when they heard about leodog being ill.Back to reality and work for them today.

Julie-hope your ideas work out and you can earn a bit extra without going back into Ed.
Tina-hope you get to see your son this time.Well done for introducing LolaLemon to us :D,welcome Lola, and mumlady

    Well wishes to everyone x
