  • In an ideal world ten year olds wouldn't need to know about horrible things like sexual assault, but unfortunately children can be abused and early teens can get into abusive relationships. It's better to prepare people for life early, especially in a supported group, than wait until it could be too late. It could also mean that if a ten year old had a friend a few years older than her who confided in her about abuse, she would be able to help them talk to an adult more easily.
