Hi,
I'm looking to buy fitted wardrobes for my loft room and came accross a business called chasewood-furniture in my local b&q - has anyone heard of them or better still used them?
The products seem to be of reasonable quality and a good price instore, but I can't find any reviews - good or bad - for them online.
I've checked their website and can't work out whether they are a b&q subsidiary or a nationwide business which has somehow linked-up with b&q. Either way, I am surprised that there are no reviews of them online. This is their website: www.chasewood-furniture.co.uk
They are visiting to give me a quote shortly so I will find out some information then, but I was wondering whether others have used them?
I'm in Surrey, so if anyone has any alternative businesses to check out, please post any recommendations!
Many thanks!

Hi
I was also suspicious as never heard of them and not sure about the B&Q connection so I started with just having part of my home office fitted out before doing any other rooms
The office was fitted out last week and I am absolutely amazed by the quality and build of it - especially as the price was a 1/5th of Strachan and Neville Johnson and I cant see how they could be any better
The doors and tops are good quality veneer, the doors etc shut nicely etc, the shelves are really thick so wont bend over time and the fitter took 3 days to install it - there was no rushing and it shows with an excellent finish
In fact it is so good I have ordered fitted furntiture for our bedroom and the rest of my office today and if those installations are as good then we will do the kids rooms
So thumbs up for Chasewood
as you live in Surrey ask for Kerry - excellent sales rep

Hi,
Just had Chasewood in to fit our bedroom. The quality of the product is excellent, the fitter was superb, so was the designer and really that side was hassle free. My issue has been with the office of Chasewood. Seems very dis-organised, I've had to call them to ask them dates for a surveyor, the fitting of the bedroom and when the bedroom turned up and glass shelves were missing, again we have had to do all the chasing and calling them up to find out when they are going to be delivered. Always promises to contact us, but we have had to call them. After arranging a surveyor to come out they called me the night before to cancel. However, if you have time to burn, again I would stress, great quality, great fitting and great price......0 -

What are the prices like? And the turnaround?
Will be looking to get wardrobes fitted in next few weeks.0 -
I ordered and paid over £5500 in February for fitted cupboards to 2 rooms and all went well until two days before the fitting date when I got a call from the MD no less to say they had been made wrongly and would need to be redone. Since then I have had to call again and again, with constant promises of a return call with some answers as to when I can expect the fittings. I still don't know two and a half weeks later when they will be ready. No one returns my calls, and even B & Q through whom I'd ordered them were no help. Customer services didn't even have the number for them. I've had to delay carpet fitters and decorators and can't rebook them yet and the knock on effect has been very expensive. And I still have no idea.... Don't use them.0

I used Bettaliving and was really pleased with the price and result. My bedroom for the first time looks very tidy and everything has a place! :j:0

Avoid them like the plague. They seem to get a lot of business through B&Q and can't cope. We paid over 3,000 pnds in November last year - by end Feb a fitter turned up and fitted the carcase. He left saying 2 to 3 wks and the doors would arrive and be fitted. It's now approaching end June (almost 8 MONTHS later)and still no doors. Frequent phone calls to Chasewood occasionally result in promises to 'look into it' - but mostly end in broken promises to ring back. Every time I give them my phone numbers -work, mobile, home and all of which they must have anyway. The very nice but somewhat harassed and not their fault ladies who answer the phone don't want to put us through to their managers / workshop foreman - B&Q are 'looking into it' and may or probably may not ring back. In fact on the last visit they added our complaint to a number of other Chasewood complaints. So disregard the other 'great quality' postings - which may well be true, but look rather like plants, and avoid these cheats.0

Ordered Chasewood bedroom furniture through B & Q in December. It was fitted in March, It was poorly fitted, fitter was booked for 2 days but completed in 1 day. Have had nothing but trouble ever since! They promised to replace furniture, we are still waiting. Do not return phone calls, say they have left us messages when they haven't. We were expecting fitter today, and they did not turn up and didn't let us know. Staff in office are
not very helpful. Customer Services a joke.0 -
I ordered Chasewood wardrobes for 2 rooms including a window seat back in April with a 6-8 week delivery date. I paid in full nearly £6,000 immediately. After 9 weeks I phoned at least 50 times, emailed the CEO and Sales Director, returned to B&Q for them to chase and finally with B&Q's help got someone to finally speak with me and a delivery date of 30 June. The excuse for the delay was bank holidays - as though they were a surprise! This did start ringing bells and after nearly 3 months I phoned today to be told I wasn't getting anything and they went into administration. This is now posted on their main website (not the one for sliding wardrobes). B&Q have been excellent stating a full refund will be paid as they did not know much and were meeting today to discuss. I will be advised on Monday. For those experiencing problems I suggest you take this up with B&Q - my branch couldn't do anymore to help. They have been brilliant0

We had a so-so experience with Chasewood. They started the installation in reasonable time (I think they estimated 8 weeks, which was slightly delayed by Christmas falling in the middle), however I did have to give them several phone calls to nudge them along.
The materials used are excellent - the doors themselves are of high quality (we went for a vinly wrap to look like Oak and it's great). However, their fitter left much to be desired. Firstly, he was rude and complained about the lack of space available for him to work with - well what do you expect when you're installing a wardrobe into a bedroom? And then he left a tremendous mess behind which we had to clear up. Also, the quality of the fitting into our sloping roof is extremely poor - the different segments are misaligned and a gap was left down each edge which we had to fill in ourselves with caulk. We put in a complaint and somebody was sent round to inspect the job - and if we'd pushed it further they probably would have taken steps to rectify it, but this would effectively involve dismantling the whole thing and starting again, which we don't really want to do.
So on the whole I can't really recommend them - our wardrobes are basically fine but the assembly is sloppy, and we won't be using them again.0
