It's worth noting that on Amazon theres a number of reviews on the Honeywell Thermostat's screen not lasting too long:

I'm intrigued to hear if others have had the same experience?0 -
We're about to replace our old 20 year + Potterton for a Worcester Bosch Greenstar Compact 28CDi. I've checked a lot of websites and reviews etc and decided to go for this model.0

No. A small number of reviews....2;)0 -
Hi all, thanks for all the replies, it seems that the Honeywell is a firm favorite amongst not just MSE members but general public as well.
I've not looked at the British Gas options but to be honest I don't trust them so will never use their costly services!
I'm quite surprsed that the Worcester Bosch units I mentioned don't seem to be widely used/reviewed but I guess if everyone's done their homework then they would go with the most effective solution.
So off I go looking for a shiny new Honeywell thermostat!
To answer the last question, we are replacing a Potterton Netaheat 10/16 Electronic. It has never missed a beat in the 7 years we've been in this house and must be at least 20 years old! Only reason for changing it is to remove the tank in the store room and use the space for a new cloakroom!
I would then ask: is the property even suitable for a combi? Do you have sufficient flow and pressure for one? Does your lifestyle suit a combi?
Lot of people on here have gone along with their RGI's suggestion of a combi and then regretted it. Make sure it's your decision, not theirs. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Is there an echo in here?;)0 -
Hi, we have 1 bathroom and hopefully 1 new toilet and basin will be added when we remove the immersion tank. The flow rate on the 28cdi compact Is rated at 11.4 lpm. Our mains flow rate was measured at 16 and pressure at 1.5.
We were assured by 2 RGIs that this boiler would be suitable for our needs.
If we didn't require the extra toilet we would not be considering a change at all. The boiler itself has been rock solid but we've had to change an external ch pump once and diverter valves twice.
If anyone has any concerns about the boiler choice please let me know. I'd rather pay extra now than regret it later.
Thanks

Can someone please explain what is meant when they state "11.4 lpm over a 35 degree temp increase". 35 degree over 0 (in winter) is obviously not hot enough. Does this mean that the flow will be reduced even more if you want the water to be hotter? Confused0

In the winter you still get a 35 degree rise above your incoming mains temperature at 11.4 lpm, if you turn the flow down to about 8 lpm you will probably get your water to 55 deg.
Bigger the better with a combi to take any future development into account.0 -
As for the stat I have personally found honeywell products to be head and shoulders above others except where electronics are concerned, not my favourite programmers or wireless stats. Worcester wireless is tailored drayton stuff. I wouldn't necessarily blanket ban the bg stuff, think the drayton wireless programmer has every function you could ever need and the remote heating smartphone app is great, plus it's installed and guaranteed.0

Combis always require a trade-off of flow rate versus temp. A higher temp setting reduces the flow rate. So in winter, when it has more work to do, the flow rate decreases.
I'm not trying to put you off having a combi, but do consider all the factors and then decide for yourself. A lot of people on here seem to let the installer decide, which they cannot possibly do if they don't ask the right questions. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
