I am so tired today. Coffee with a friend and a trip to Liddly and wiped out.
Puppylove (henceforth to be known as Devildog) has eaten DH's new shoes.0 -
Oh dear, no puppy cuddles this evening then. Listen to your body if it is telling you to rest. Do you have a quiet day planned tomorrow?June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

We stayed up Friday watching Wolf Hall (uh may zing) and Friday night whizzed off to take Plops to do cross country. Also seeing my lovely friend was oddly exhausting.
Really though I think its worry about DH's health. I am super good at being in denial ( when MIL was in her last illness I convinced myself it was SIL being neurotic for ages).
I caught myself thinking the same about DH and made myself stop.
Anyway I do believe God has a plan for us and clearly if we were moving amidst medical tests et.c that would be unmanageable, and ditto the job move.
Witter witter. Sorry.
Today DD2 and I have a new brownie recipe to try out and we have to get the Plops out. DH is marking. Well he is asleep right now.
I think the week at work exhausted him.0 -

Excellent news on the moderating fee!
As for being in denial ... it gets us moving, thats the good bit. But denying reality long term is tricky, no doubt about it. Medical issues don't have to be mortal, you know, far from it - if you take notice, they're often a way of our bodies telling us that we deserve to be looked after just as much as the *other* people that we're looking after. That's a message I ignored for quite a while, though I *thought* I wasn't...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Definitely agree with karmacat
Ps. I thought you had kids Al, after nosing at your house details that's clearly not the case. No kids could possibly have bedrooms that tidy :rotfl:
PPs. Please come around and sort my lot out!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0 -
You should see the attic and the car boot!!
I am in denial about DH not myself. I think its my brain's way of feeding me info in manageable chunks.0 -
And thats a very sensible attitude to take - our lives are so fast, we do so much (well, not me, but you!) when things are really big, we come at them bit by bit. That sounds like what you're describing, and thats perfectly okay. Or is there something you want to change about your assessment of what DH is going through? (This has suddenly developed into something really big, perfectly understandable if you want to draw a line underneath it, thats in keeping with just taking on chunks at a time).2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Weeelll. DH had abused alcohol for a good long time before we met and as a mostly bachelor had not looked after himself in the sleep/nutrition sense so I guess I am worried what health issues will come out of the woodwork.
He is very glad that I decided to go alcohol free. He came along for the ride and he thinks that had he not then his heart might have been under more strain than it could cope with.0
