  • Looks very comfy, enjoy your sit down. Interview tomorrow for a maternity cover, early November to May half term. Timing is great as I wanted the early autumn off work, but I am not sure if the school is for me. We shall see. That will take us up to travelling time, then I would hope to do the same again if I can, before packing it in altogether.
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

    That sounds perfect, Squirrel.

eta bit of a golden moment today, two girls who are doing work independent of the rest of the class having the most fantastic intelligent discussion about physics calculations. Its hard to explain that feeling.

Sofas look soooo comfy. If I sat on one, I'm not sure I'd get up again!

Glad today went well. I totally get the golden moment feeling - for me it's hearing 1 pupil explain to another about forming irregular subjunctives, or what to do with direct object pronouns. Tis a wondrous feeling!

Will you explain it to me?

I think it was out of fashion to teach that stuff when I was at school.
  • Evening Alchemilla, I hope both you and your husband are sitting with the dog, feet up and relaxing.

I know exactly what you mean about the girls discussing physics. I used to listen to DD discussing Further Maths with a friend and they both have a true passion for it. Mad :)

    Well plumped cushions :T

Al, I used to send the kids to the English dept, to get them to ask them stuff, just cos I knew they hadn't a clue. Mean ol' me! But if you aren't doing a foreign language A level, you can still get through life pretty successfully without umderstamding them. Or so I'm told...!

    Pavlovs those guys are cool!

DH hit the buffers about 5pm last night and scared himself.

The death of Charles Kennedy, may he rest in peace, at 55 hasn't helped.

    Ho hum.

Morning Al, sorry to hear you were that tired yesterday evening - and your DH felt wiped out :( if he scared himself, and it's recoverable, then thats no bad thing, if he changes tack.

Charles Kennedy made me stop too - the photos of him look very much like my brother in law, who died a few days after he turned 51 :( this stuff is real sometimes. Kennedy seemed a really nice man too.
