    Congrats on the "Fabulous" :)
German Shepherd girl here. Love other breeds but there are advantages to German Shepherds when in a rural location that other dogs just don't pass muster with ;)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I have always liked German Shepherds (lol, just wrote 'Germans'). I am not sure how comfortable I would be with them around young children.

I spent her last ten years keeping her away from children...she was a rescue though.

Are dogs more tolerant when they've been raised with children? I have always found that with cats.

Think it depends on the dog. My German Shepherd is possibly the only dog I would trust totally. A friends toddler spent a BBQ afternoon learning to walk by hauling herself up on the dog and then grabbing his fur to practice her walking. The most he ever did was lick her. Most people spent a lot of the afternoon trying to rescue the dog from the toddler but the dog just accepted his lot. He is perhaps the most charming German Shepherd ever.
I have met others I would be more concerned over though.

There's three German Shepherds live next door to me, and the female (called Lady!!!) is the gentlest, most devoted spirit I've ever seen in a dog. I agree, it depends on the dog. Would I place my trust in an animal above the future of my newborn? Hmmm, no, no matter how lovely. Didn't know I was going to write that last bit, sorry!

    Agree with you both.

I adore dogs but I would never 100% trust one with a baby and if stuff goes wrong it is humans at fault.

Please dear friends, head shrink me.

I have been offered a job at the school of my desires.
