Lesson was "good" which was a miracle given how I have been feeling lately.

    Thank God.

Well done! I haven't even had feedback for my last one in January! The one before was 'good' though and as a general rule I'm determined not to care. I don't think my observed lessons say anything about the way I teach every day! We all feel it's an act to tick some boxes then you get back to teaching properly :rotfl:

That is so rude not giving you feedback.

I feel so much better about the world now which is completely nonsensical since I am exactly the same teacher as if I had got a better or worse review.

Extreme Maths with DD today. Interview prep and 7 ebay parcels to post. Parents evening for the two smallest today.

Thanks Earthie and KC and Squirrel.

I feel awful this afternoon. DD 2 has just had a three hour screaming fit (age 7) and I have sent her to bed.

please tell me its normal ish to be still doing that at seven!

Even the dog didn't want to play with her.

I hope peace has resumed. DD has some epic lengthy tantrums. I thought they would have stopped by now too (she is a bit younger than yours) but it seems the slightest thing can be a trigger! I have tried reading all sorts of books but am none the wiser.

    That brings back memories.

I had to teach my mum and dad what I was doing in maths so they could help me with my homework.

But these days I wouldn't know where to start with an equation:o

    Well done. :T

Can I ask you a science teacher question, please?

Do you think there's any disadvantage, as regards CV and career etc, to having triple science as science, additional science, and further additional science instead of physics, chemistry and biology?

DS's school have cancelled history in the option block in which he picked it, and there's nothing else in that block that's suitable for him. They don't offer triple science - all students do core science at the end of Y10 and additional in Y11. I am considering teaching him further additional myself, in the time freed up by him doing "study support" in that block, which will give him time to get homework done in school so less HW to do in evenings. The school say they'd be OK with that and could supervise and mark the ISA etc as well as obviously entering him for the exams.

I'd value your opinion, if that's OK. :)

    Hope all well with you.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I don't think there is any disadvantage. If its AQA they cover the same stuff and if he is self (or parent) starting enough to do it in his own time it looks good.
