So impressed with the sofas Alchemilla, you've done a brilliant job there, you really are the dyeing queen!

Shame about the lampshades though. How's your insurance excess ... any point in claiming, if you have accident cover? x

    Thanks Habi.

Nope. No accident cover. I did the screws up too tight so not really an accident.

Helped the olds declutter yesterday as they are downsizing. In the process recluttered here. Just found space for it all and next stop the last sofa.

Reading Tilly's diary reminded me about PC money so £3 off mortgage.

Just caught up on about 5-6 weeks' worth of your diary... :)

Hope you are getting some rest now that it's the hols!

Loving the sofa re-vamps. Have you ever totally changed colours on similar fabric? Our sofas have either dark green covers or terracotta covers. My lounge is now purple and browns....... The green is the better colour of the 2 options in there, but having seen your dye successes I'm wondering about bleaching out 1 set of terracotta (we have 2 full sets of each colour!) and trying chocolate or purple..... Would need an awful lot of dye, though - to wash a set of covers takes me 5 loads - and that's with full loads, which I wouldn't be able to do... :(

Love the washing line - am debating one of those as a second washing line for here (we can have an awful lot of washing sometimes... :()

Blimey GreenT that was dedicated of you!

I think you can get dye remover as you can with hair. The brown one I did with a new dylon product that washes as it dyes so each load has to be washed twice rather than three times to dye it.

I wonder if the terracotta might take brown dye withot stripping if it is not too dark?

The first sofa in my pics went from cream to terracotta to that red without stripping.

You can also combine packets of dye so when I did my wedding dress I went for two packets of violet and one of navy.

Polyester won't dye though. Weirdly that brown one is linen which should take dye well in theory but doesn't.
