Ugh! Day from hell. Feel so stressed. Started with a pooing incident and went downhill from there!

    Upside is NSD.

There seems to be a school trip arms race these days. Mrs E has a friend who teaches in a school in a very affluent area. Despite it being a local authority school (i.e. no fees), Mrs E's friend has had 'field trips' to Iceland, Germany and New York in the last year.

I cannot imagine how you begin to rationalise these experiences as being worth the money unless you are already minted. The pressure on both the parents and children must be horrendous.

I was in the Scouts when growing up and had a few very nice trips (including Switzerland and North America), but it took all of the savings that parents and grandparents had lovingly put aside since I was a lad.

In retrospect, it seems like a waste of money :-/

    Ouch! Helen.

Thanks MWC. She is well enough to criticise the nursing (she is an SRN) so on the mend I hope.
