On the man birthday front, I quite like a little bit of fuss over my big (decades), but have absolutely no expectations or specific desires for the rest0 -
This was a decades one. Perfect morning. Took DD to a PC rally. Mid rally one parent got "borrowed" to deliver a lamb. All children got off to look at baby lamb, got back on and carried on riding.

Thanks guys. He wouldn't want me to arrange a surprise party or even a surprise to meet friends i wouldn't have thought - i can only base this on the last 10+ years together and him saying no he doesn't want a party & doesn't want to go out with friends.
He would love a holiday but i have already asked him a couple of times and he won't commit to that either. The honest truth is i can afford to pay for 1 night away in the UK - room will be £90 i think with brekkie - then there would be meals and drinks all day. This would safely fall within my budget although my man can drink  so it will be costly but i'm thinking less than £400 for room, slap-up restaurant evening meal, lunch, drinks all day and cost of any taxis needed etc. I have said £400 as absolute maximum ideally less than £300But it will be a very nice couple of meals in the day = oh and breakfast on the day too
To go abroad for 4 days (long weekend) or even 3 days i think would cost more as i'd have my own spends for when there, more days of meals and as its his birthday he'd probably want to eat in nice places etc. Plus paying to go to events / exhibitions. I don't want it to but it feels like i know i can afford the UK break and as the abroad break i can't really estimate for some things it could go over budgetI also couldn't book to go abroad because of our shifts it would need to be a surprise to be booked after his birthday whereas for 1 night i can work out when he'll be around
I've still got time to think about it and work out costs. It is a one-ff thing but i also don't want to go into debt for it eitherCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Just made a stonking hm pizza with bread mix from AF (3.5 kg for the cost of normal bread flour, no need for sugar or yeast) 2tbsp tomato puree left overs and the dregs from a red pesto jar, and cheddar. Also got the quarterly water bill. £7.32.0

Oh yes - i can see it now
- We get some lovely double ones here - i love seeing them it lifts my day
How come your water bill is so reasonable Alchemilla? i am pondering if we should have a water meter fitted - then i think of the very long showers my Mr takes and am worried it would cost us more :eek:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
