Thanks dedicated. We use the aga for all cooking, heating the back of the house and drying clothes...so it will cramp our style a bit. Fortunately i had pretty much finished the weeks washing and dried it. Mostly.0

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
£13 on coal
Completely unrelated, but a good story all the same. Found out the other day that the Borders cottage where we grew up has been turned into a self catering holiday property (very range, coal fire, Laura Ashley and shabby chic-y).
Somewhat conflicted when remembering our relatively modern, but still idyllic and safe upbringing vs. the modern day idea of what life should be like in a small semi-rural setting :undecided0 -
How long until you can get the oil? Hope all goes well.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Best of luck for a quick oil delivery Alchem. As much as I love my fireplace, I am glad we don't have to depend on it, thinking of you xMortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857

Rang up about oil and she was jolly rude. We have until 14th...
Not sure i want to wait.
The whole laura ashley range thing sounds fab E. Though not for a man about town such as your good self.
I am now obsessed with the idea of buying a vintage baby belling.0 -

Hi Alchemilla,
I had to look up the vintage baby belling to see what it wasAnd am not sure if you are wanting one due to the lack of oil or because you want one anyway ?
I have wanted - for about 2 years now - a vintage typewriter - one with the round keys on and ideally in its own little case but until we move (not even in the planning stages) i cannot justify it as there really just isn't the roomI found one in a charity shop on my birthday day out and it was a bit of a wrench to leave it but we need the space for easier living and a happy home just now and the money is better used on the mortgage
Hope weather isn't too bad where you are it is very windy here :eek:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
