  • Hi everyone, I had a lightbulb moment recently, and officially started my DMP with Stepchange today after sending over my details etc. Cancelled all my creditor dds and set my DD for SC up, and am feeling good about it. Have set my diary up, and I'm going to stroll through this thread and the rest of the forum to see what experiences people have had with their DMPS and my creditors

    Hi and welcome lumpyspaceprincess :hello:

You sound like you have already made a great start. Any questions please just ask and stick around for the support.

HH you are a wonderful creature! I have read the entire thread and haven't laughed so much since I discovered Texts from Dog! The Lion Sleeps Tonight is actually my alarm ringtone and I had tears rolling down my face by post #109 about goats!

I'm feeling a bit better now, thank you to Powered by Pies and Suseka. I had a nap and a kitkat (and now lots of giggles). Will give SC a call in the morning to discuss the latest letters and go from there.

I'm actually looking forward to the cold calling beginning tomorrow (I've been getting at least one per hour this week) and I have plenty of amunition now. Obviously not in relation to the debt but those wishing to sell us windows/conservatory/etc ;)

Glad you are feeling brighter Kate. We all have off days. Fear of phone calls put me off going on a DMP for about a year! Once I got my head around debt not being a crime and empowered by knowledge I relished them. Perfect opportunity to turn the tables and ask what they are going to do to help customers in debt as they say in their policies. When will they stop interest etc. Trust me, the troublesome ones soon want to get off the phone from you! They just rely on you now knowing the lay of the land. Oh no not us on this thread. Stronger together :)

Stepchange seem seem to be having a problem getting money to Sainsbury's Credit Card. They haven't received my April payment and its not been returned to SC.

I've rung around both and SC insist all Sainsbury's payments goto BOS, but Sainsbury's insist they are to Sainsbury's Bank?

They've frozen account for another month while it is sorted and I think Stepchange are going to actually telephone them to discuss rather than me being the go between.

No hassles though, not had a horrible creditor yet when speaking on the phone :D

Ooh, looks like SC have spoken to Sainsbury's. My list of debts on the portal now says Blair Oliver & Scott. I'm lead to believe they are Sainsbury's/HBOS in house DCA and the balance shows the missing payment so hopefully thats another on the way to a default. :D

HI Blistering blue yes they are. The same thing happened with my BOS loan, kept fighting saying that they didnt receive payment/info etc and then next thing Blair Oliver Scott ( BOS) were on my SC debts list ..... and the interest stopped! so really its some good news!

  • Might've fallen off the bandwagon last night, have a friends' birthday coming up and decided to get them a little something which turned out to be a bit pricer than I'd thought :o

Re-worked the old budget this morning to take it into account, but it leaves me a little light for the week ahead!

Still no more contact from any creditors, waiting to the end if the month to see what the payment plans all say when they come through from the DMP.

Other than that, all good! Just having a nice calm day before work tomorrow.

    Hi Ed and welcome :hello:

Did all your creditors freeze all interest and charges? If so, how far into your DMP? How many creditors do you have and are they "main stream" or smaller e.g. pay day loans etc?

    Hi and Thanks

    Most froze interest and charges.
Been on the plan since Summer 2011 and have about 18 months left to go until I am debt free.
    All mainstream banks.

I think I am better to just let it run the 18 months and be debt free, I can always go back and fight about my CR later on...
LBM July 2011 Had debt of £52k
