I've already started a thread on this, which no one has commented on yet, but has anyone ever had their dmp payment disappear? Payplan are saying they havent received my standing order payment but its gone from my bank account...
Sorry dini, I have no experience of this at all but I think you need to speak to your bank and to Paypal first thing on Monday morning. I am pretty sure that if a bank payment is not accepted, it is returned to the bank within a few days. I hope you get it sorted quickly.

Just to update, I phoned Payplan as they were a bit slow to reply to email.
Apparently the delay is because of the bank holiday and this has happened to numerous people, and I should ignore the Overdue payment messages I am seeing on the DMP page.
Sigh...
For the record, I have been in the DMP for 7 years.
And now that I think of it, I had forgotten that my paments used to go out on the first of the month, but one easter, there was a lot of bank holidays with royal weddings or queen mother funerals or something, and there was a big delay then. So I changed my payment to the 27th. (I currently get paid on the 25th, but my payday will be changing to the last wed of each month so I requested that my standing order be changed back to the 1st)Light Bulb Moment: Feb 2007

Glad you got it sorted and well done on bringing those debts down, you are doing fantastically well.

When I was with Stepchange they took payment on the 1st and paid creditors on the 25th. That's hanging onto the money for 3.5 weeks. I would love to know how much interest they gain collectively from the total sum of everyone's DMP payment. I appreciate they need to fund the charity but they already get a % 'comission' from the creditors. This was one of the reasons I chose to go self managed; some of my creditors were charging interest and I reasoned that that way I paid the creditors myself on the 1st saving 3 weeks of interest.

First payment has GONE!!! :j
Feeling a little bit nervous about only having a small amount left in the bank but all the bills are paid AND it's a positive figure so I shouldn't really be bothered. Just need to get it into my head that it's MINE.
Now the downer, statement through from Asda with the new "lower" interest added...except it's NOT lower! The acceptance letter said 0.095% pa. They've charged 0.95% this month! £27!!! Plus a £12 late payment fee! The payment they'll be getting is £6.79 - less than a sixth of what they've charged. I'll be using the template on this thread and getting a complaint fired off to them ASAP.
Not had a great weekend but feeling pretty fired up right now so going to give SC a call in a few minutes to see what they suggest. Just going to have a good read through everything first (need to discuss HSBC and Tesco too). I have a feeling it's going to be a long call. My only issue is I'm still housebound with no printer so may need to get inventive and find a way to get some letters printed out (I usually do this at work but I'm signed off until June).
Will keep you posted on what happens. Feeling pretty fired up right now and ready to go for the jugular!

I'm losing it now! I read the wrong line! Asda are getting £28 per month not 6! But it means without the default charge I'm paying £2 per month off the balance of nearly £3,000!
SC say (and I quote) "wait and see what happens, they might stop the interest and default charges in a couple of months" on all points. This really doesn't sound right to me, she went on to further say "we can send out the offers again in a few months if it continues". I don't really see how that'll help. Especially with the HSBC issues (accounton hold but sstill sending letters 3 times a week!)
Do you wise people think it's worth me sending out a letter to try to get the interest stopped now or have I been advised correctly?
I'm really confused now!

I would get straight onto them (Asda) directly yourself and push them to freeze interest and charges. In my experience most creditors need to be pushed to stop charging and its better to do that from the outset rather than wait and see. All bar one of mine (Halifax) have frozen interest charges and still continue to almost one year in. I did complain via the FOS but didn't get very far with that, but it did result in a letter from Halifax advising that my account should go into 'default' shortly...
