Since I last posted there has been some good and inspiring posts.
I'm about to get my forms from SC and am about to apply.
I have one question though; I have not budgeted properly on the site the first time around and have forgot a couple of things. Is it worth filling in the SC form again on their web site or should I wait for the forms and Could I edit on there?0 -
Went to court today, was horrifed to see it was an open court. One judge, loads of barristers', rows of defendants!!! All called out one by one, loads of people didn't even turn up!. But of course each case had to be heard. Guess who was the very last to be heard? Yep, it was me. What a complete waste of time. Of course the barrister knew nothing about anything, just read from time to pay application. Which was wrong! Judge couldn't understand why my DMP had been accepted for 12 months, yet I was in court. Got to go back in 2 weeks with evidence they've accepted 12 month DMP. Judge didn't even know it was an unsecured loan, thought it was secured on my house. I tried to explain I thought I was there for inhibition hearing, but no response. Don't think I can go through this again, have contacted stepchange, going to speak to them about a DAS I think.0

Hi Spiffy,
I seem to recall when you receive the paperwork the budget is all printed out from what you have entered online. Probably best to give SC a ring and sort it over the phone.

Thankyou to everyone for kind words and support. Very much appreciated. Just want to give update. Have spoken to stepchange this morning. They have spoken to solicitors acting for Nationwide. Apparantly, even though they told me they have accepted payments for 12 months, they see it as an 'informal' arrangement, therefore they still intend to go for intimation. They are not prepared to put it in writing for me to show the court!! How cruel is that? Apparantly they sent a letter to stepchange in february with their intentions, stepchange haven't recieved it! I have decided to go on a DPP. I know that Nationwide will still object, but stepchange very hopeful, that DAS administrator will accept that what I am paying is 'fair and reasonable'. Still have to go back to court on 21st, but only to tell them that I've applied for a DPP. Not looking forward to that, but hopefully it'll be the last time I need to do it. Thanks again to everyone for being so caring. jx
Hi Jamapo,
Thank you for the update, and good luck with the DPP.

it's lovely to hear/see you sounding more positive after such a terrible day yesterday. IMO they are making themselves look ridiculous! All this work and cost to achieve nothing more than they already have - not to mention the stress they've put you under! Bunch of fools!
Try to look at it another way, it's not going to be pleasant but you know what is coming this time so it won't be as frightening and there's always a chance that after yesterday's idiocy the judge will look at what they've done and give them a ticking off and should that happen you have a front row seat.
keep your chin up, this'll be done soon and you're doing everything right.

Would I be better off to cancel my DMP and have all of the banks get really angry and default me - and then start a DMP again? At least then my file would be clear 6 years from now rather than 8 years from now as will be the case currently.
Hi, Personally I do think it is the only way to "guarantee" your accounts get defaulted, but it could still take 4 months or maybe more for them all to do this? I don't think I could be prepared for the level of mither you will get over those months?
I've a similar level of debt and paying a similar amount but only just starting out 2 months in. It looks like I've a default about to happen and the rest are likely to AP me for ever. Personally I'm not too worried about that. Now I'm switched on to budgeting once we are clear I will self fund everything via budgeting, I don't plan to apply for credit again in the future, bar maybe a mobile phone contract. Credit got me into this problem so there is absolutely no way it will get me back in this position in a few years time. I will just remove that temptation to borrow money, so AP markers on my file for 10+ years are perfect for doing this.0 -
Arrrggghh bloody HSBC! I'm not really sure how they interpret "account on hold"! Two letters regarding the CC today stating I've ignored attempts to contact me and all the usual threats. One from tesco too despite a letter last week accepting the repayment plan!
What's most annoying is that I've answered all the calls, it's THEM that put the 60 day hold on the account AND THEM that refused to take the SC reference. I'm really cross now.
Do you think I have grounds for sending a harassment letter at this point?

Have they refused the DMP reference?
No idea if this would apply but perhaps talk to SC and see if it'd be worth opening a complaint file with a view to taking it to the FOS for something like negligence/ignorance of the situation?
At the end if the day you're making a conscious effort to pay, it just looks like HSBC are throwing their toys out of the pram because they're not getting it at the amount/frequency they want.0 -

I've already mentioned it to SC once and I simply don't have the strength today. This has really got to me. I'm normally really positive about getting through it but I feel like hiding under a rock today. It's not helping that my leg is really hurting and I'm feeling very isolated. Almost in tears typing this and that's so unlike me.
I've offered the DMP reference with every call and they always refuse to take it.
I feel weak and pathetic today and I'm angry at myself for feeling this way too. I know it's not personal and all DMPers get similar treatment but the rational part of me seems to have taken a day trip elsewhere today
will give SC a call tomorrow to discuss it if I'm feeling better. I literally don't even have the strength to hold a conversation right now and need to pull myself together before the kids get home.

Don't fret about it today then - 24 hours isn't going to harm anyone, and no-one needs to focus on their debts/DMP's etc on a 24/7 basis. For example, I haven't given mine a single thought today and popped into my local guitar store to window shop and play a few bass guitars - going to save up for one as my current one's mullered itself on me and can't be repaired
Some banks are wonderfully stupid though - it might be a simple case of one department not talking to another and then deciding that they're going to refuse it because they don't know the full story - NatWest used to do this to me all the time. They'd send a letter, I'd call, and the person on the line would admit they had no record on their system of the letter being sent.
Anyway, go hide under a rock/the duvet for today - just be sure to tackle it again when you feel ready!0
