Woohoo! I am celebrating! Just had a call from Halifax to say after our complaint to the FOS they are refunding all interest and charges for the last year amounting to £1,131.46

We don't see the cash obviously it will come off our balance, but it has reduced the outstanding debt by 25% approximately.

Ooh I think I deserve a celebratory beer tonight

Fantastic news, you have made my weekend

My 3rd review today and all done on line without talking to a person!

All figures put in and will be clear in 10 years !! Although my figures and yours should also be, a nearer payoff in five.

For all you 'Newbe's'...this is the best thing that you could have done...face the facts, figures and go for it. You are just a number, like me and to show that you are prepared to face the fact that you and I have messed up in the past and to do something about it is a credit.

Hang in there, go with the flow and believe you me, once you get going, the going don't get tough. (Wasn't that a song back in the 80's...Billy Ocean !!)

Wow, well done Growyourown :T and totally agree with Papas sentiments for newbies!

Today I accepted a goodwill offer from Barclays regarding interest charges. It wasn't as much as Growyourown but still several hundred pounds off our overdraft debt and we were very pleased to get some recognition. :T:T

I have spent the afternoon updating my spreadsheets, it's such a good feeling seeing the numbers coming down. It's only our third month and still getting to grips with checking my bank and updating my money book all the time so that I don't get any nasty surprises!

By the way, as I have passed from the original forum to this wonderful one, I had my LBM back in 2010, with a debt of £68,950...three years later and nearly 13K paid off, still going strong. Always try and add a few quid each year to your payments on review day and they will leave you alone.

Well done ! Halifax are the only creditor still charging me interest. They have reduced it by a whole 1%. What did you base your grounds for complaint on ?
