    Hi Murphy 2011
Thanks, I am feeling a bit better today, we will keep with it, I know it's going to be a long road but I feel we are doing the right thing by facing it and not burying our heads in the sand as we were.

I feel a bit stronger today thanks, I have good days and bad days and yesterday was a bad one! I haven't seen a doctor yet, but I will if I can't pick myself up back up. It's things like S that knock me back. The comments they made when they don't even know me, for example "we would all like to drive around in a car and not pay for it" are insulting, we have no intentions of not paying and I said that.

    Anyway, back to plan A

    Thanks for your support x

Ps - great news about your debt- another milestone, well done

Sorry to hear about this Pickle. I disagree with the SC rep post. The creditors behaviour is unprofessional and against the codes of conduct. I'd launch a complaint and if I wasn't satisfied with the answer I would be on the phone to FOS.

Had a bit of positive news yesterday. After complaining to Lloyds about unfair charges (on 2 of the accounts myself and gf have with them they were charging more than we were paying) we have now had all charges reversed. That's about £120 off the total left to pay and also the gf got a £30 cheque to say sorry and I got a £50. So I can add to the list of people that can confirm that complaining is the way forwards.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas.

    Hi all

I'm inclined to agree with HH, if all creditors behaved like this, we would all be having permanently sleepless nights and no one would get paid anything. If S - or any other - creditors are allowed to bully people into payments they clearly cannot afford there would be many of us unable to heat, eat or pay rent etc. Most of us seem to want to pay back what we owe, we just can't do it at the rate they would like.

If you have money they offer you 0%, if they don't they charge you 30%+ ...grrrr
Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

  • So sorry to hear the problems that you are having with S at the moment Pickle29 - we banked with them for many years and I felt so dis-loyal to them when entering our DMP but my feelings completely changed as they were/are by far our worst creditor!

They make me so mad:mad::mad::mad: Hang in there, they are bullies. You are paying back what you owe!

I'm with HH on this one, it does sound very unprofessional and against the codes of conduct:mad:

  • Reading through some of the recent posts, it looks like we are all experiencing problems with our car's! Ours has now reached 7 years old and is being a right pain in the a%$e

I had budgetted for new tyres and a service at the beginning of December, followed by an MOT and tax at the beginning of January BUT... the electric windows decided to seize up, not whilst closed, Oh No! half way up - so I was stuffed and had to have them repaired straightaway (emergency fund is taking a battering at the mo!). Now quite stretched for christmas but have managed to buy token presents for some family members and included a few things that I have made myself:o

I have been really down in the dumps recently (not really me as I do try to be upbeat), everything appears to be happening at the same time, things break, car goes on the blink, OH has no work etc. etc. but I have just checked my statement from SC and have found a couple of things to be cheerful about:

*Debt will go under the 25k mark next month;)
*All our debts are now under 4k with 1 or 2 reaching the sub 1k mark (at the start of our DMP we had several debts over 6k)
    *All christmas presents bought
*I'm looking forward to a family christmas (no amount of money can ever take their place)

    Take care all

Hi Pickle, I'm glad you are feeling better. Santander's attitude stinks and suggesting you aren't prepared to pay when you clearly are already paying is completely out of order. Let's hope it is all empty threats and they will shut up soon and stop bothering you.

  • Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining you! We sought advice from CAP about our debt last month and we're starting a dmp with them. they have mentioned insolvancy but we're not sure yet as we are still finalising figures with various companies! I already feel so much better having the budgets in place and knowing we are dealing with the creditors.

No need to rush into insolvency - see how your DMP goes and if your creditors freeze interest. Then perhaps take stock after 6 months? When you will have a good idea how long the DMP might last!

You must feel so happy having tackled your debts before xmas - time to relax and enjoy lots of cheap family cuddles!
