  • Hello everyone :)

Some lovely positive messages coming through and it's so good to hear about people being all organised for Christmas with no horrible CC bill to come in January :T

My LBM came just after New Year 2012 when we had funded Christmas 2011 by selling my dead mum's jewellery, I still get upset thinking about it now. If only that LBM had come earlier but life is full of if onlys and what ifs so there is no point upsetting myself, I need to think how far we have come since then.

If anyone had told me less than 2 years later, we could have paid off over £38,000 of debt plus saved over £7000 for our endowment shortfall, I would have laughed at them but we have done it. The help, advice, experience and support of this thread is what has got us here, it can get you in the same place too.

Happy Christmas DMPers and DFWs one and all, and here's to lots more debt busting in 2014 :j

Hello, have not posted in a long time, just been lurking, everything going good, have been on a DMP since May 2013, best thing I did,my bank is with nationwide, changed from Natwest, now only have a cash card, no overdraft, no credit card, and you know what I haven't missed using them-all food and presents bought with cash-but the best is not having continual thoughts about how my money is going to stretch-will be joining the Frugal Living challenge for 2014-thanks for all the supportive posts, they really are inspiring-so if there is anyone just lurking and wondering if a DMP will help them-go for it-a - non fee plan- I am with Stepchange Debt Charity.Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year to all xx

    Hello
I just want to wish everyone a really merry Christmas and happy and prosperous new year. I know this year has been tough for lots of us, but we are doing the right thing, we are tackling our debt - together. We are not alone and one of the biggest things to come out of this forum, part from the advice and support, is the knowing that we are not alone.

For everyone who reads this, for all those who comment, for stepchange and even our understanding creditors - thank you.

Here's to 2014 being a better year for all of us.

Is it too early for a Christmas drink yet? X

  • Good Morning and a Very Merry Christmas to you all.

    We survived another year!

My 4th Xmas on the DMP and almost certainly my last.

Every single person is in a much better position than they were whether they have just started to look into the possibility of entering a DMP, plodding through it or reaching the end. In my view the biggest riches are coming out of it with more skill, knowledge, confidence, camaraderie and enthusiasm for the future. I was just thinking the other day, no one ever posts and says I regret going on a DMP.

Anyway, here's my very special thank you to all of you on the thread for keeping me going. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to seeing 2014 in with you.

Good afternoon HH and everyone else out there in DMP land. A very Happy Christmas to you all and hope you are all enjoying your day.

This is our 3rd Christmas on a DMP and at least one more to go before we are debt free. Never regretted going down the DMP route although it hasn't always been plain sailing. However it is a lot better than the alternative of constant worry and sleepless nights that is for sure! Thank you too HH and your twin TTFTM for all your advice and encouragement:beer:
