Their accounts (bar the basic one though it's easy to get the free Select account) are now doing 1% cashback on all DEBIT CARD spends. They've picked up a reasonable number of companies

And Mr T's also included so % to be made there if you use them for your weekly shop :)

Keep going anywayout, in a month you'll feel so much better about it all.

Just a quickie from me - I'm moving house at then end of the month into an unfurnished place and I've worked out my only necessity will be a bed which I can get thriftily. I'll stick with camp chairs etc until I can save up enough to buy a sofa and a table.

I can't afford a bed but if I reduced my DMP payment by £100 for one month how do you you think this will go down with my creditors? They'll still be getting a good £200 and it'll be back to normal the month after. I just don't want to sleep on the floor for the next 3 months but I will if I have to. Anyone else reduced their payment for something like this?

Are you signed up to your local free cycle group? There's always beds going on mine!
    LBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid

£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
    £49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,764

Yeah, I'm a bit iffy with freecycle though as I always seem to get screwed over. I'll give it a look nearer moving time though, thanks for the reminder!

Hi andrar, yes I have had to reduce my payment twice over the past two years due to large repair bills on my car. The creditors don't like it and some of them said I had to resubmit my SOA to set up my agreement again because I had broken it.

Hello all, nice to see so much activity and great advice being given as per usual.

Our 3rd payment went off to SC and so we are now into the flow of things budget wise. CC's are still charging interest, so I've that to sort out and a number of creditors are taking payments, but staying otherwise silent. No letters accepting or rejecting plan, no statements either.

I'm going to send them all a letter asking for them to confirm the account positions in writing and whether they have reduced or frozen interest. Then take it from there. I'm off work next week :T so will use the time productively to get this part sorted.

Not feeling great at the moment, so it is hard to focus on the creditors and DMP -but I must do so. My sister is very poorly and at the moment we have no idea if she is going to pull through.... so money matters have been put on the back burner for some weeks now.

OH is getting a little bit of OT in here and there and we're putting that away for now. Although I am worried that if matters take a turn for the worse (re my sister) I'm going to have to raid the emergency pot to get a flight up to Scotland! No cheap flights at short notice!

Oh well - that's what an emergency fund is for I guess!

Hope everyone's DMPs are bobbing along nicely and continue to do so.

    Bye for now.

  • Hello Suseka,

Just wanted to say I hope your sister recovers and my thoughts are with you and the family. Money matters can wait, what is important is family. Sending you my best wishes.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts FTR and HH.

This thread is so supportive, whether it be debt related or other and, at least in my book, it makes a tremendous difference.

My sister is being held in a medically induced coma whilst the medical folks try and work out whats wrong. She collapsed with severe stomach pains last Thurs and since has undergone two major surgeries to remove a variety of tumours. She is now on dialysis and her liver is also in trouble.... worst is not knowing why this has happened or what it means for her future....

Makes you realise that life can change in a heartbeat and makes my money situation rather insignificant!

Anyway... I'm hoping for the best and... once again thank you :)
