Finally some good news from me - I've been head hunted for a position where I'm working less hours and earning about double what I have been doing and start mid next month. It means my DFD will be reduced dramatically (like by just short of 21 years
)
cant wait to get started (and get my first bigger pay packet)
onwards!!0 -
I`m so pleased for you !
Isnt it nice to feel appreciated at work ?
(I was asked to do something different at work, no increase in pay or anything like that, but the chance to do something new, so I took it and dont regret it !).0 -
its just nice that it feels that everything has started to turn a corner, ive got my home back to me and my sons after the ex from hell moved out, work is looking up and looking more secure and I can finally start feeling hopeful about the future - 6 months ago I was close to losing my home, my sanity and my self worth. the debt part will be sorted - I know I can do this now and that's a feeling that has grown bit by bit - sheer terror describes how I felt when I originally realised I couldn't manage to pay everyone. Reading thru everyones experiences has been a great learning curve0

Have you lodged 'formal' complaint to PP? Given their stuff up will they help resolve the issues with the companies? I'd then write with all paperwork to companies and ask for a resolution of you will have no choice but to go to FSA.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on

Hey HH, thank you. I think you should also be know as FH, "Forever Helpful"!
I couldn't get in tough with with PP as my case officer is on holiday,:( anyway, I sent a couple of messages asking PP to help sort this mess out. Finally they came back and said that one of the rejections was due to a mismatch of my name?!? I couldn't understand this. So I asked them, why because I haven't changed my name so why all of a sudden are barcl saying this. Then PP messaged me stating the mismatch was my name and date of birth and copied the message they had received from barcl. PP asked me to call barcl and verify my details
So I just got off the phone to barclaycard, spoke to a lovely man who said, guess what,.........they have the correct name, dob and the plan is running fine and they have accepted the offer! :T
So, god knows whats going on here. Tried to get hold of buchanan clark and wells but they were closed. Will try again on Monday.
So, my previous plan of trying never to speak to the creds and rely on PP may have to change. There must be some major glitches or something in their systems at the moment...or maybe just good old human error.
At least i don't feel quite so depressed now I can see a light again.
I live to fight another battle again on Monday:p
Cheers everyone:beer:

Thanks for all the welcome messages. Its good to know others are going though the same thing.
My wife and I have just signed and returned the paperwork to payplan to start our DMP. As yet we haven't defaulted on our credit cards or loans.
We have always paid by Direct Debit each month but have had to use credit cards to survive towards the end of the month.
We have now cancelled all our DD's to our creditors.
These are all due to be paid next week when our wages are paid into our joint HSBC account. This account is currently overdrawn and we have a loan and credit card also with HSBC. We will have to see if HSBC automatically take are loan payment despite cancelling the direct debit.
My biggest worry is they cancel our £1500 overdraft.
We have set up a new "safe" joint bank account but this will not be formally open till next week, so to late to have wages paid there this month.
I think it may be a good idea to withdraw all available cash (upto my overdraft limit) out of this account on payday before HSBC stop or lower my OD. Any thoughts?
On a plus note I think I may have found a PPI I haven't yet claimed from a CITI Card I used to have.:think:0 -

If it's too late to have wages paid into new safe account, you need to transfer all available funds into new account ASAP on payday. I stayed up until midnight and did this as soon as the money appeared in my old account, to ensure it could not be offset against anything. If you have any concerns, I would recommend you do the same.

We had a £1000 overdraft with Natwest when we started the DMP with SC, they actually kept the OD open for nearly 3 months into the DMP even though we didn't use it but we had already moved to the Coop before we started.
Please do as TTFTM has said before anything can happen.Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -
Hopelessly_Hopeful wrote: »It does feel like one back one forward sometimes doesn't it. You can't buy back time though. Think about going back to SC to tell them you need a reduction if there's a cost to the boiler. Yes the debt needs paying but you need a break too and DMPs should allow for these surprise bills if they are not giving a healthy emergency fund allowance.
I hope karma is restored very soon for you

HH - Never a truer word about not being able to buy time back (unless its that dodgy film with Leonardo DiCaprio in it), we went through hell with our debts once our business collapsed worrying every day and night, we now have put all this into perspective. It wasn't really the lenders fault in our case as they didn't throw money at us for frivolous things, but we owe them all a lot. They can only have what we have got, the debts are still on our mind every day but in a more positive note, we are getting on with our lives and enjoying them. Sure things are different now and we do a lot of "free" things, but we don't let our debts stop us. Its just not worth it....Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35Now £27,470.20 :T57% of debts cleared:beer:0 -
Just popping in this fine Sunday morning to see how everyone is doing. Nice to read of the recent DF successes and to those that are experiencing various difficulties.... I hope things settle down/get sorted quickly for you, but keep positive
Our first DMP payment has gone off to all creditors and we've received letters from most saying they've accepted the offer. The only wobble so far is that having accepted the offer, Halifax sent a follow up letter cancelling agreement and demanding full payment of all arrears. They say it is because I broke the terms of the agreement, but I haven't, it's just the SC payment was not yet due. Anyway SC have sent another I&E to them, with a reminder that payments are sent on 25th of the month.
Letters from Barclays, who are my main creditors -tell me they have accepted, but not said anything about interest charges, so will wait a week or so to see if a statement turns up and will write and ask them if they've reduced or stopped.
My OH has a chance of some shift work in the coming weeks, and we are going to put any extra aside into the emergency fund -so at the moment things seem to be going smoothly. I'm under no illusion that it'll remain so, but will enjoy it while it lasts.
I've set up a monthly income and expenditure account on a spreadsheet so that I can monitor our bank account and spending on a weekly basis. We pay most things by cash, so we can keep to the weekly budget and it does make a difference.
I still need to set up the creditor spreadsheets which is my next task and any pointers on that would be appreciated.
