  • Not that I ever want credit again but my noddle score has gone upto 2/5! Can't fathom why. I don't put too much value into scores and I don't want credit but nice to see progress in a perverse way.

Good news HH. I've never checked my own credit score (just presumed it's as bad as it can get) but maybe I will just out of pure interest. Am I right in thinking that Noddle is free as opposed to Experian and co?

It's Friday everyone !Almost the weekend:)

    Hi everyone

I haven't posted for a while, been busy at work and trying to improve our house on a very tight budget.

I have just updated my beloved spreadsheet with April statement details which include my Month 5 DMP payments. I was very pleased (and a little bit proud) to see that I have managed to pay off just over 10% of my debt total. :T

I know that this interest free period (7/9 creditors) may not last forever but at least I will have made a good inroads to reducing my debt.

I am about to write to all creditors requesting confirmation of their required review date, as I don't want interest and charges to be added if some of them prefer six monthly reviews rather than StepChange's annual submission.

I still have two creditors charging interest, although both reduced by 50%. Do you think it is worth me writing to complain/request total freeze or will I be better off just leaving it?

Well done for all the successes and welcome to all joining us on this journey to debt freedom!

    EN xx

    10% is a super milestone - well done :T

I believe in trying to get all interest frozen. You've got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain, so give it a go :)

I will be penning a letter today about my interest too

tTFTM...does it make any diffence that I'm not with a company for y DMP? I'm going it alone but using advice from SC
    LBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid

£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
    £49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,764
  • Zenshi, some guidance states.... if the client is dealing with a notg for profit advice charity. I guess you could tell them you are still seeking advice from SC.

    Good luck x

    Morning all,

TTFTM I know ours has done 146,000:eek:

So feel like I need to revisit the budget. We've kind of gone off track a bit. It's so difficult with dh being self employed. Need to get back to putting everything in the bank and not using the cash for food shopping, its so easy to lose track of where we are. Up to.

Also as well as trying to get together an emergency fund, mainly with a car in mind, I'm also trying to save to pay one of the debts off. It's bugging me and the only one still charging interest so it needs to be gone, its so hard though. Just surviving from week to week is exhausting.

Hope everyone is getting along ok. X

It shouldn't make a difference but I found it much easier to use the NED CAB DMP for printing off I & E, letters to accompany it etc.

Despite the fact that you do it completely yourself, the creditors seem to like the fact that you have a reference number and it connects you to the CAB etc.

There are some really good tools there, I can see why it has won awards and wish I had known about it right from the start. Take a look if you get a chance:

Yes I agree. I've recently gone self-managed but have registered details with NED CAB as I think their templates are good and creditor friendly plus they have all their addresses etc
Thanks TTFTM for pointing me in their direction.:)
