UK attracts more Immigrants than the whole of the EU

So rich immigrants are OK.
And lazy local born are OK.
And the kind of scumbags who get the taxpayer to buy them a new ipad three days before they plead guilty to perverting the course of justice and resign from the gravy train are fine.
I agree with the Economist - open the borders.
TBH there are so many foreign nationals in this country with ILR status that all visa data is a joke.Counting the beans : £1
Knowing which beans to count : £990 -
I suggest you read again what I posted and then sit down and have a think before telling me I am wrong.

Are you deliberately trolling? I shall persevere nevertheless.
You start by measuring all british emigrants to the eu, with all incoming eu migrants to the uk (1.4 m v 1.8m).
Then, for some reason, you divide the first figure by the number of eu countries to say there's only 40,000 brits per eu country. However, you don't then divide the 1.8m by the number of eu countries to say there's only 50,000 migrants per eu country coming into britain.
You're not measuring like for like
You don't seem to understand that other eu countries will have migrants from all the other eu countries too, it's not just in and out of britain. Like Italians to France or whatever. So France's inward immigration isn't just 40,000 brits or whatever

Nope. There are 27 E member states including the UK. There are approx 1.4 million brits living in the other 26 member states. On average that is 54000 brits in each EU country (my original 40,000 figure was a quick estimate - I was posting from my phone - so sue me).
But we have 1.8 million EU citizens living in the UK alone. Why would I divide that figure by the other 26 member states? I am demonstrating that on average, we have more EU immigrants than the average of the other member states.noodle_doodle wrote: »You're not measuring like for like
Wrong. That is exactly what I am doing.
Clear?
Do those figures demonstrate that on average we have more EU Immigrants than any other country or not?0 -
Still doesn't get it.0

Because they come form all the member states?

No doubt the other countries each have a ~ 1.8m total of immigrants from all the other 26 countries.
Fair enough 1.8m divided by 26 ~ 69k residents form each country so it is still higher than 54K brits but not by such a headline margin.
What is more of an issue is the mix and where they are from which may or may not indicate/suggest a relative positive or negative impact."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
